My carbs was a compleat disappointment i was sold 32mm sugo carbs insted of 36mm sugo carbs
Next the 36mm pair carbs the on pilot jet thread was striped  >:(

So now i still need carbs going in circles

My other 3xv40 cylinders came thy was what i expected and my sugo throttle also looks fine

Then other stuff is a compleat tail fairing for the vj23

And Karl's spr cdi 3xv 7k

Looking at the needle jet it is a 610 Q2 ( 32mm sugo part )
So I will need 610 R2 or 610 R4

So after looking on the net a lot i found this
(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/Yurivd/Mobile%20Uploads/BB218513-03CD-4EF0-931B-A3D296B9001F.png) (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Yurivd/media/Mobile%20Uploads/BB218513-03CD-4EF0-931B-A3D296B9001F.png.html)

But no r2 or r4 part numbers so after a nice chat with Edd he told me about this company http://www.mcomp.co.za/Contact.html

This guy told me he orders it from the UK so now I am waiting for his email

The needle is easy to get it is a 1993 TZ needle

I will run 95
that is the reason the sugo kit use R2/R4 neele jets

Post by: Paul on November 19, 2014, 09:54:11 PM
hi yuri
R4 are the leanest i run at altitude and that needle you're after runs in 38mm carbs
avgas uses a lot less fuel, like 450 mains leaded to 330 on avgas for example
im just hoping to help, looks like you're going lean
someone tell me im right or to shut up

I will just put big jets in and drive the motor in
Then gife it to sum one to dyno end set it up properly
On my vj23 I was never able to feel even 3 jets up and 3 jets down  :-[

Put an EGT sensor and do it yourself , then you are in control of your jetting , these days there are very few bike mechanics that can jet a 2 stroke .

Are there no small one like the spr sugo water temp gauge ?

Other wise I can just as well use my multimeters

I see from the hand photo it is not that big and more accurate than my multi meter
0.2% accurate vs my tester at 1% accurate

This one looks nice I think it can be fitted in the water temp gauge's place . Then you need to buy 3 sensors
http://thesensorconnection.com/gauges-pyrometers/all-gauges-pyrometers/4-channel-digital-thermocouple-pyrometer-gauge

You can even the wire the N/C contact threw the side stand switch if the temp get to high

The TZ ones are only R50 less
So it's right except he's selling copies of the real thing
These are SP 36's?
Ask Eddie to open mine. He bought them. They worked beautifully. A touch rich all round but my engine looked lovely on strip down.

I was to laze to go get my money back from centurion yamaha so i just ordered the next needles
239-14116-A0 (4dp4 needles )
Then looking at the part numbers the needle jet must just be 1 size smaller
What do you think of this craze idea ?

Here is a link to the needle chart
 http://www.jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_carburetor_type/needle_mikuni.html

this doesnt help
the TZ needle i have is a 6F13-62
the 6F13 is represented on the list (sadly the 6N11 range isn't to find a match, can someone post that?) with dimensions that are nothing like my needle which measures as follows:
A-68
B-30
D1-3.10
D2-2.65
D3-2.65
D4-2.40
D5-2.05
D6-1.75
if you want to run unleaded and use a TZ needle i would match that up, remember by altering what you choose off the chart as you clip position you can get closer, your choice of mains can also take up any slack at the last 10-15mm of the needle. if you match this up you will need R6 needle jets

regards your last post, they are also not available, sadly.

Some pretty cool bits there Yuri!

Could i be cheeky and ask for you to measure the footpeg position relative to the mounting points on the Sugo rearsets please?

Based on the exhaust mounting on the R/H one it looks like the pegs are lower down compared to the coerce rearsets i have. If i made new backing plates based on the sugo measurements this might help my knees!

No worries if you don't want to though, i know how rare they are!

Dan

There are products that are overly expensive ( RC Sugo CDIs ) then there are products that are priced fair (TZ rear caliper )
have a look on Yahoo what rear TZ calipers go for
I am also not in the EU so Dan gives me better prices ( your tax is high )

Like I said I would go without or use Moriman in Japan or proper yamaha dealers Padgets or Fowlers for genuine NOS TZ parts

Today is a first I have been working on my TZR
I got a set of 6204 bearing for the rear wheel to fit the 20mm shaft of the  TZR ( the late model TZ's use a 22mm shaft )

(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/Yurivd/Mobile%20Uploads/10892265-9B63-4CC2-A49D-1DA159D8E501.jpg) (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Yurivd/media/Mobile%20Uploads/10892265-9B63-4CC2-A49D-1DA159D8E501.jpg.html)

(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/Yurivd/Mobile%20Uploads/79F71C87-C5DD-4DDB-95A4-E4DD734FAC22.jpg) (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Yurivd/media/Mobile%20Uploads/79F71C87-C5DD-4DDB-95A4-E4DD734FAC22.jpg.html)

Now I can get the swing arm welded
this must be welded in for the rear caliper supports
(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/Yurivd/Mobile%20Uploads/A4AB3010-1015-4C85-92B2-6ED6F359A9CB.jpg) (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Yurivd/media/Mobile%20Uploads/A4AB3010-1015-4C85-92B2-6ED6F359A9CB.jpg.html)

Then I can get it painted

I think it is possoble if you use a 4dp caliper bracket and just make it shorter
The 4dp has a 20mm shaft the same as the 3xv

4tw has a 22mm shaft ....

Prices in Yen are on the Yamaha parts page.  FYI TZ 4DP pistons are 6847 yen which is 36 pounds.

On the parts page I just choose the parts then print the PDF and take the paper to any bike shop here in Tokyo, then pick it up a few days later. Good thing about the parts page is it tells you if they have stock or not.

You dont need to read Japanese to work it out just need to play around with the buttons.

I got this from wiki

Bead blasting
Bead blasting is the process of removing surface deposits by applying fine glass beads at a high pressure without damaging the surface. It is used to clean calcium deposits from pool tiles or any other surfaces, remove embedded fungus, and brighten grout color. It is also used in auto body work to remove paint. In removing paint for auto body work, bead blasting is preferred over sand blasting, as sand blasting tends to invite rust formation under re-painted surfaces. It's additionally used in cleaning mineral specimens, most of which have a Mohs hardness of 7 or less and would thus be damaged by sand

He would know exactly how to get the best results and being a something different than he normally looks at project I'd say he's keen to fiddle with it a bit !

Hey Yuri, that looks very cool! Is there any difference of the YEC against the stock TC crank?

It is a full circle crank so it generates more compresion

Like stuffing the crank case...

I was also told it  weighs more than standard crank

It weighs about 5.24kg for the crank

This is a neat looking project this bike will be a rocket for sure. (-P)
Where did you get the balancer shaft .
Iv been looking for a used one for ages .
Do you have all the primary gears to match your crank etc.
So far iv got half of  what I need to fit a tz crank into 3xv cases .

Why are you looking for a TZ balancer shaft? If I remember correct the only difference is that the TZ shaft is a bit lighter because the middle part of the shaft was cutted on a lathe.... That can be done easy at a machine shop.

The reason is that the TZ crank has spline gears and normal tzr gears will not fit
So i change the shaft and get everything straight cut gears ...

But the balancer shaft has the same connection setup for the TZR as well for the TZ gear. So you can mount the TZ gear on a TZR balancer shaft...

That's one serious upgrade , very nice indeed  .  iv pondered getting light weight wheels but for 125r - think id struggle to find a manufacturer that would fit . Also if JMC were still in buisness id love to have the std steel braced swingin arm made in ally . Then the steel rear subframe ? Where does one stop ? One day when i have my own proper workshop id try making some of it myself  (-P)
