3ma restore third time lucky
« on: October 08, 2012, 09:18:57 PM »
i started a thread on the last two forums only for them to shut down fingers crossed this one stays around long enough for me to finish the bike

this is the bike when i got it

then the strip down

found out it's got sp barrels and heads

back from the powder coaters

starting to get it back together all new seals and bearings

calipers paint stripper works great

all rolling time to build the engine

time for foot rests

thats it for a while now  >:( :'(i need some time off to get it running

Nice project.
I'm loving all the black, with the powder coated parts and painted chambers and mufflers...should look cool when it's all done.

Nice progress! ;D  Are you painting the stock plastics? Just asking because that cyan color scheme is quite rare, you may consider keeping them stock and getting some pattern plastics?

had some time off last few weeks so done a bit more work remounted the rear shock with spacers
fitted the loom, battery box,new master cylinder, number plate bracket and the throttle cables hope to have the switches and handlebars all done this week

here it is so far

i have had a change of heart with the colour i was going to paint the genuine farings but it is in the rare green colour so i am going to get the std paint refreshed and re laquered

so will look like this but with black wheels and frame hopefully it will look good
