There are three events planned for 2016 - Rhayader weekend in April, Donnington track day in June and Anglesey track day September

This thread is about the Donnington/Silverstone Track day

Date - around June 20th midweek but might be weekend TBC
Track - Donnington or Silverstone, All day - 7x20 minute sessions, Registration around 7:30am Finish 5pm
Noise - 105db - 108db (static) Normal track day restrictions are 102db static 98db drive by
Cost - Determined by the event organisers, but budget for £180 - £200 We have no control over this
Accommodation (post track day) - No camping available, budget for a Premier inn or similar plus a hefty bar bill
Media Coverage - Practical Sportsbikes are writing an article and attending on the day (Editor has a TZR125)
Inclusion - Any bike is welcome but lets get as many 3MA's,  TZR's of any capacity or vintage and as many 2T as possible
Restrictions - You need a full UK licence, 1 piece or full zip together 2 piece leathers.
Experience - Everyone regardless of experience is welcome, and everyone to book in the same group TBA. We have made initial contact with potential organisers. No previous circuit or track day experience is required.
Attendance - This is completely at the individuals choice and everyone must conform to the track day organisers requirements.

Special Note - Everyone participates at their own risk. Please see the track day website for all conditions of attendance.  Please don't be put off if you have never attended a track day before. You will need all your own riding gear. You can bring as many bikes as you want as long as they are all noise tested you can ride them. The person that is registered to ride can change bikes no problem. If necessary you will be "chaperoned" by a marshal until you are confident on the circuit

Questions - If you message me I can answer any questions and add the answers (if generally relevent) to the above list. That way nothing get lost in a muddled thread. To that end....

I don't think so, as that sort of thing is usually only available for the Ron Haslam race school, but not track days. Keep an eye on fleabay or gumtree for 2nd hand leathers. There is always gear for sale. I picked up a 2 piece Dannsport for £45 from 2 miles up the road. There should be some post Xmas bargains available soon as well :-)
Beware of cheap new stuff, it's cheap because it's sh!te

I had a decent 2 piece set but it appears to have shrunk around the waist over the last 10 years since I had a bike. unless I factor in getting married having kids and turning 40 into it.

Put it in the For Sale section

Phil,
Silverstone is closer for me but if it's the full GP track it's bloody massive for a 250 isn't it?
Reckon I'd be blown up In a lap. Maybe better in the wet, though.http://pure2strokespirit.net/forums/Smileys/default/tongue.gif

Looking at all options. I think Donny is the best bet for now. But we won't knock other good options. The key here is central for all.

There are no dates out yet for the PSB trackday at Cadwell but there is a strong rumour Classic Bike Trackday are talking to Donnington Park about running a TD there and if this is the case camping won't be a problem.

Right,

my brain is ticking away on this..............

I'm gonna be over the UK June July next year. Is the Donnington gig a definite ?

The reason I ask is that I MAY be able to get my 3XV racer shipped over in the UK teams container when it returns from the Island Classis at the End of January.
In advance of my impending return, which is now put back till 2017.

I would need some help in a volunteer with space that could look after it for me, until I get there in June and I know garage space is a premium in the UK unless you have won the lottery !!

Once I'm over next year I'll look at a permanent storage options.

As I said, just thinking..............
Plus ce la change, plus ce la memchose
