I have just returned to Oz after the Bikers Classic at Spa last weekend.
Brilliant weekend, apart from the weather was its usual Ardennes variety of rain, cloud & sun! (Nothing like the Donno rain though!)
Stayed overnight at Dover before catching the 8am ferry to Dunkerque, getting causht in the rush hour Melee around Brussels and arriving in Francorchamp around 3pm. The que to sign on was its usual mental mile long which saw us signed in and at the F1 garages around 4.30pm
Classic Bike Trackdays had organised for 3 garages with about 50 riders/bikes attending mostly from the UK including the Wiz Rotary Nortons competing in a classic Superbike Race. They provided lunch, tea coffee and biscuits during the weekend and it was excellently organised.
So good in fact that I am planning to ship my 3MA back to enter myself next year. My son has moved to a new house in Spondon with a massive garage so that is where the bike will be stabled as my European track day hack.
http://www.classicbiketrackdays.com/bikers_classics__spahttp://www.bikersclassics.be/?q=en/page/rulesThere is a date cut off for the trackday, which is split into 6 sessions. These were (roughly from observations)
Sesion 1 - older small capacity classic bikes
Session 2 - classic superbikes
Session 3 - Italian bikes
Session 4 - post classic superbikes (P&M, Harris big 4 strokes etc)
Session 5 - 2 Strokes all capacities
Session 6 - golden era superbikes up to about 1990 ish
We stayed at a small hotel in Francorchamp. a shared room with breakfast for four nights was around Euro380, which also included my extras of 3 evening meals and the beer!
So here is hoping I can get a spot next year !!
