1KT carburetor synchronisation
« on: September 26, 2017, 06:00:59 PM »
I am putting the bike back together and have read that to synchronise the carbs I have to look through circular windows on the carb bodies and use alignment marks on the slides.  However, the windows are so discoloured I cannot see through them.  Is it sufficient to adjust the slides so that they are in the same position at the bottom and go up together on the throttle or do I have to strip the carbs and clean the windows?

2 lollipop sticks one just under each slide acts like a pivot so the long end moves quite alot so makes it look obvious when out of whack, works on my Rd anyway

Brilliant! Like the idea of magnifying the difference.  Does it matter what flavour of lolly the sticks come from?

It would have to be some "Zoom" ice lolly sticks to be period correct.
