engine transport out of Japan

Purchased a TZR250 crankcase with damaged chrankshaft - without cylinder etc. expected it to be a sparepart -as it was not complete - but now Buyee inform they cannot ship it - as they claim it is a engine and therefore cannot ship it out of Japan.
any suggestions?
Any one know a forwarding agent in Japan that could handle such task?

The last item I got with him as mediant was a fuel tank, no chance doing that with buyee.

I've had similar issues recently using bidding service "From Japan". They refuse to send anything internationally out of Japan that will be used in contact with fuel or oil. They used to! So this must have recently changed.

I had to get it shipped to someone else in Japan who will then ship it to me.

Those from refusals are very normal.

Anything that has been in contact with fuel or oil is classified as dangerous cargo wich need special treatment as well as special documentation, doesn´t even matter if shipped by plane or ship.

No major shipper will offer the time and responsability for shipping such item.
These rules have been there for a while, but enforcement as well as awareness of these rulles, and more specifically what they apply to, has in the last few years had a lot of focus and attention by controling authorities.

If you try and use a normal Japanese company to bid for engine parts good luck to you now. They will just take the easy way and not do it. I have sent several tanks by ems which should not be sent but i managed to do so, a couple got returned with shipping fee returned by the post office but i just sent off again and ok. I know Drew and Andreas who are based here in japan can also do this service but do not want to be asked to help after you use another service first and get knocked. Best to ask them first.

I helped one member before for parts (crank) and lost money on helping him so sorry never again.

I bought a set of TZ carbs that were posted and the post office xrayed the box and returned it so now they are  doing a round the word trip to get to me.

Thats not good news. I just purchased a set of 3xv carbs of Yahoo. Lets see maybe my guy in Japan can get it posted. He actually got my steering damper stripped and a permit issued by japanese goverment official to get it posted. Both those items will be in the same parcel being send next week some time. This is going to be an interesting one watch this space.

I've a same experience for a 3MA SP head for Louis which was returned to my contact in Japan by the Japanese post after been X-rayed.

It seems that post (air shipping) regulation are getting very strict on oil or fuel contaminated parts.

I'll try to have these kind of part shipped by container...

It is getting more and more complicated to have engine part shipped !!!

Thats sucks... and at the same time surprises me that Juno-san didn´t find a way.

I got a set of sugo pipes for the 3MA from him a couple og months ago.
They were sendt as new old stock.
But I think maybe the problem here were those 2kg over 30kg.
Many air cargo forwarders say no to everything over 30kg if you don´t have a special contract with them.

Ybk - I´m afraid logic accounts for very Little nowadays.
        You cant ship a cylinder head, but 6 (or more) bottles of TTS - no problem.

Problem is in japan and thier post when i had my tzm shipped to me. It was going by FedEx the box had the frame and some other stuff. It was moving along fine until it hit the Japan hub.

It sat there for over a week n half nothing happened until i called fedex and started complaining about it. Once it left japan it only took a couple more days state side.
