Hi, picked this up today, not one of my best buy's but despite the owner saying it was a non runner a few spurts of carb cleaner in the air box and it ran. It will of course come apart as it looks to have been ridden through a desert. but a promising beginning.
A few of it's many issues are
No key for the rear seat. How will I get in there ?
The tank is full of holes an an old broken up liner. Anyone have a cleanish one to sell me, scratches and dents not a problem.
How is it so heavy ? I also have a 92 4DP which weighs about 100kg, ok not a great comparison but even my MC21 must be 15kg lighter. Any one here put theirs on a diet ?

Eventual (pin the tail on the donkey) plan, day light MOT, 60hp 115kg

Looks familiar, did see this one advertised myself but already immersed in my own project ("Another 3XV project" thread). Good Luck with the project, post an update if you need a reference point as hopefully I'm one of the closer members geographically on here to you?  (-P)

Hi mate
Nice buy .
I regards to 3xv weight mine always felt  lighter than my brothers mc28.
(road trim )
Both bikes have been turned into Race bikes since and Iv weighed my 3xv Race bike at 110kg  and the mc28 at 118kg .
Still Bit heavier than a tz but not bad .
on a road bike swapping the exhausts  should make a big weight loss. ????
Good luck with the build .
3xv racebike, 4dp racebike,
3xv roadbike, zxr 636,tdr125, crm 250, vtr 250,

She’s rough but a good base start from (-P) That tailpiece repair! :o ;D

The 3xv is the lightest of all the vtwin 250’s I think, 128kg dry according to the brochure.
