Not sure lead-battery likes being powered permanently !! Some chargers have winter programs which do some recharge/discharge cycles to keep the battery healthy.

Will ask my colleagues working in the field of renewable energy in our research lab.

Do you really need a battery ?


IIRC  Having a battery fitted is necessary for the yearly MoT test ( to check the bike isnt an accident looking for somewhere to happen ) so that you can operate the indicators with the engine off ?? If so seems somewhat odd to me but then Im not a bureaucrat - thank "god"
