premix safe ratios
« on: May 15, 2018, 06:02:55 PM »
Can anyone advise on what premix ratio should be for my track 2ma. I have only just finished it and tried 30:1 but is very smokey and a lot of oil is collecting in the tailpipes. Is 40:1 a step to far??

30:1 is a lot. I'm running 40:1 in my race bike right now but I'll be moving to 50:1 as I could see from my tear down from last year that even 40 was excessive.

Thanks for replies. I will give it a try at 40:1 and see if it cleans up a bit.

Also remember less oil doesn't mean more power...

The dyno shows that 24 to 1 gives best power with the oil I use.
