350 ypvs in a 2MA frame
« on: October 27, 2018, 05:18:42 PM »
So Guys, I've got a tuned ypvs motor to drop in, what mods do i need to do, and what do i need to be careful of? Do the rear mounts line up with the valve motor, i know the cradle needs working on? Many Thanks, Andy.

If you check the RZ350 forum there is someone that has done this and you could likely ask some questions.  Sprocket alignment is quite important.

... and

as well as the location of the center of gravity.

For the sproket of exit of box, I will not say alignment, its location conditions the work of all the back part (the strength of the chain,% squat,% anti-squat, neutral ...)

Thanks gents, I am also fitting a single sided swinger and wheel off a VFR400, this is probably beyond my capabilities, so i think i'll take it all to Nigel at NK Racing to sort the geometry and engine positioning out. Andy.

Hi Chubba, Are 2moto still trading? They are close to me, distance wise. Cheers, Andy.

JL - If you do go to Nigel let us know how it goes? Personally I think 350 YPVS engines are a bit heavy. But if you changed from a mechanically driven rev counter to an electrical one then the gearbox for the mechanically driven rev counter ( which is in the rear of the top crankcase ) can be dumped saving a few unnecessary pounds. :) Just remember to block of the mechanical drive aperture.

You can get the back of the engine machined off, which loses the kick start and the rev counter drive, but moves the engine back if needed to get the front sprocket where you want it.  I think 2moto or MBD can get this done.
