3XV SP V2 '91 Carb inlet manifold
« on: May 25, 2019, 06:16:05 PM »
Hi Folks,
I'm after a 3XV SP V2 '91 Carb inlet manifold for the upper/left cylinder Mine has torn. It's for the 36mm carbs.
Will buy the pair if anyone can help, otherwise will have to try Gecko.
Many Thanks Scotty

Hi All,
Has anyone any experience of trying to repair a carb manifold? The tear is clean and fits together neatly, so thinking to clean it and try a rubber glue and then to put self amalgamating tape on the outside.
Worried about petrol braking down the glue. Nothing to lose and will keep an eye out for another anyway. Gecko have a pair but the pic shows two lower cylinder manifolds with the one offset fixing for £175! I need the symmetrical manifold with rectangular fixings.

Other than that could try tz ones but angle is well different, TZR is a straighter shot. Cheers Scotty

I've come across a few that had tears in them. Always had good spares but with them being NLA I also thought about possible repair methods. Black threebond was the best I came up with, being petrol resistant and all. It definitely ain't going to be pretty!

I have used yamabond (Same as threebond)  on mine for over a year now and it seems to be holding up ok .
Mine are not torn it is where they were modified by a previous owner  the rubber has  started to come away from the steel.
Its Not ideal but is  not really causeing a problem either .
I do keep a close eye on them cos air leaks on two strokes  are bad 🤑🤑🤑.

Cheers YBK/Vinny,
I'm not surprised it's gone I've had the carbs off it seems like hundreds of times!
I'll have a go see if it runs OK. There's a chance it could run lean I guess, I'll have to be careful.
You just can't keep every spare! If it doesn't work then its the Aprilia for me. Scotty

When did they run out?

I ordered a set not too long ago from RS cycle in the usa and he had both in stock.

I think Yamaha Japan ran out a long time ago. RS probably keeps their own in-house stock.

Hi Yellow and fast, is it these guys:
http://www.rscycles.com/

Please can you do me a favour and ask about your order to see if still going through?
I think I need this part: 3XV-13555-10
The lower carb part number seems to be 3XV-13565-10
I'm off to Magaluf tomorrow but will try ringing them
Cheers Scotty

Cheers Yellow.
I've taken a punt and bought this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123768261557
It looks right to me, not sure but we'll see. The sides of an R manifold curve in the middle where as an SP is virtually parallel.
Cheers Scotty

Also bought another pair from the same place. One is definitely 3xv 10-2 for the lower SP one the other 3xv 00.
I think they have mixed R and SP together in different items the do nuts.
Hopefully work out ok and a bargain. Cheers Scotty
