Ivor - This could have several causes. You didn’t say which cylinder was afflicted. Did this problem just start or did the bike gradually develop the problem?

There are many experts here. The more info you give them, the more they can offer more specific answers. Pictures are always good.

It’s best to start simple and work your way to a more complex diagnosis. Is the fuel line kinked or restricted? Is there good spark? Good compression? Fully cleaned carbs? Clean air filters?

You can pull the pipe and look at the piston and part of the cylinder wall. If nothing conclusive, you’ll have to pull the cylinder and inspect the piston and crank.

I’m betting it’s a very clogged up carb or a failed coil. But, again I’m not a guru. Those guys have seen everything.

The good news is: It’s still running. My advice: Don’t ride it again until you get the cylinder squared away.

Steve

Mine got the same simptoms a few mounths ago, Ivor, the last week i changed the pilot jets, the main jets, took of the small filters and put a big one on the fuel line, and cleaned several times all the carburators chanels. Yesterday start it and it seams to be ok, put new plugs, but did not the road test, it's still missing an exhaust end can to do it.
Clean very well if needed several times the smalls holes of the mikuni with carb clean and a very thin cable, i use a bicycle break cable, with all the strings apart from each other, and then one isolated to pass all the chanels ang holes of the carburator.
Try it and let us know the final result.
To despite a faillure coil, swap the coils between them, only need to unscrew the wire from the coil. Pay attention to screw all the negtive ground wires in the coils.
Good luck, Nuno
