R1Z CDI 3XC 00 advance curve
« on: August 16, 2019, 11:24:19 AM »
Mine is a 92 model with 00 CDI
I notice that the power comes in hard at 7000.
Used to own a TDR & that was at 6000.
Does anyone have info from the 3XC service manual showing the CDI advance curve.
Also info as to when the power valves start to open.
Thanks Keith.

Thanks Oliver  Yes I have seen this link before.
Would be nice to see a shot of the service manual that shows the advance curve.
Do you remember if the TZR 2MA 1 KT take off at 7000.
Just trying to get some idea if the ignition advance & PV operation is similar.
It is complicated in that the 3XC has smaller carbs, boost bottle, close ratio box.
So the power delivery may be different.
Certainly the TDR was more tame.
Good idea to grab links while you can, so many are dead.

Thanks Oliver good links & via those found a dyno chart.
Still trying to work out the sudden increase in power, the PV would be part open & advance increasing but neither in a sudden step.Unless it is just the carb transition to larger fuel values.Only way is get it on a dyno.None where I live.

Another nasty, just checked plug caps 1 is 20k the other open circuit.
No reason to check them as no misfire, just wanted to put some heatshrink on the lead between the cap & lead instead of tape other guy fitted.New bike check the lot !  ;D
