Hey Oliver,

its not that hard, one hour on the milling machine will do it. Reposition the 4 mounting holes and cut one side to clear the middle. Hardest part is to get it straight on the fixture and do the "first" cut when you realize there's no way back ;)

Have a nice weekend

Do you have problems with the water cooling in the cylinders ?

I've seen modifications using DT200R cylinders which open the cylinders water passages.
Can't get my hands on pictures on my hard disk !!!

There are no problems huge amounts of jbweld and silicon gasket cant fix. ;D
In fact there is a 10x10mm hole in the water jacket after clearing for cylinder spacing, but its easily filled with JB Weld. The overlap to the case at the basegasket is 1mm so silicon will have to do the job i think.

I purchased one of these 170 kits back in 2006 for my DTR. Only issue I had with it was that when you tightened up the power valve, it didn't rotate as freely in the cylinder as it should do. The YPVS motor was having difficulty moving it, it was that tight. I made a shim which cured this. Other than that, it was fine. I can't say it gave much of a BHP difference over my lightly ported 125 cylinder though.

Looks like the piston has picked up a little. It's rare for the plating to come off like that without provocation, so perhaps it had a light seize, which then pulled the plating off? What does the piston look like?

I dont think it seized, but i'm not sure. I didn't notice that it did. It's also a unusual spot to seize isn't it?

yeah, rare for it to pick up like that on the side of the piston. The crown looks fine too, no sign of detonation. Not sure what to suggest really!
