Fitting a tz 4dp shock on a 3xv is a pain in the nuts .
I only did it myself because I got a ohlins tz shock for free.
It's too long so i had the shaft shortned and the gas canister fouls on the seat bracket so you need to cut a piece out .
I'm not sure about the earlier 3yl shock it might be a better match .

You would be better fitting a shock made for a 3XV rather then messing around trying to make something fit that doesn't want to. Plus the spring and damping will be all wrong. Can't see the point myself ?????

I found a NOS 3XV Ohlins in France. They set it up for my weight. Works great.

the reason is that i cant find a tzr shock on the usa and being an old racer from days gone by i spread the word to my friends/other old racers for a shock to try out ... and after contacting yahoo japan auctions and its offshoots i was informed they will not ship fuel tanks , forks or shocks because they are "tanks"
