That brass pipe and that brown pipe you have pictured are the float bowl breathers. Make sure they are clear. You should be able to blow through them easily.

Is there a high spot in the fuel lines Gary? Maybe air is trapped in the fuel pipes? If you watch the fuel pipes while the bike is running can you see fuel flowing into the carbs?

Did you actually check if fuel runs out the carb drain hole with the fuel on, Gary? Stubborn air bubbles in fuel pipes are not that unusual.

That's what I was getting at Gary. As Warwick has pointed out, opening the drain screws should have fuel flowing out the bottom of the carb continually when the fuel tap is on. If you are getting a good continual supply of fuel through the carb and out the drain bolt then I don't think there is a fuel flow issue.

We tried the pipes on Gary's bike on my bike too. Quite a considerable difference:

I've knocked 2hp off Gary's curve as his was DIN correction and mine was SAE. 2hp might not be quite right but it's not far off.

the fuel valve was knackerd on the left hand carb it was not letting hardly any fuel in
and its sorted now ,fuel flows through both carbs with the float bowl screws open continuasly
it does seem allot better as i could hardly set off on it how it was before it almost stalled .
i will put it back together and try it again to see if its better !
why did your bike only rev to 10400 dan ?
if its a good bit better i will take it back to gavin and see if its better on the dyno

Good to see you r craking on with it eyrey.
Please note that the jetting I named, is what I found others in the forum were getting good results with. It is no advise as such.
Mine run outrageously good with 260-220 :)
So outrageous that I upped it to 270-230. Still good, especially because the bike was going to run on    a track that required relative long periods at WOT, and temp. was only 7-8 degrees C

Good stuff Gary!

Make sure the fuelling is good before you get over excited! You don't want it blowing up on you buddy.

go on dan mention the b word !
set the paranoia off ,put the question in my head should i have gone 230-270 to be safe ?
will it go bang ?
ive gone on what casal said 220-260 so if it goes bang see you all in court LOL
AS SOON AS I SET OFF i knew it was better as it was nearly stalling before
on tick over runs so well i could even hear the left hand short pipe the one that was getting no fuel
are reading the plugs the same with iridium ones ?

Lol it's just too easy to think " yes it's sorted"and open it up to see what it goes like and you just hear the exhaust note change and you think " that's not right" then eurrrrrrggggghhhhhh.

I'm not saying that the fuelling won't be spot on. It might well be.

Get it booked in on the dyno and you'll soon get a rough idea of what it's doing.

Do you think it was running badly on the dyno then?
