I have seen three or four copies of this manual on offer over the last few years for prices around ¥10,000 - a bit rich for me.
I was therefore pleased to get hold of one recently for the much more reasonable sum of ¥2,000. When it arrived, it looked as if it had never been opened.

Although the manual is undated, I infer that it was published late in 1986 or early in 1987. It combines the race kit manuals for TZR250, FZR400 and FZR400R models, as well showing the race kits and parts for these and some other contemporary models (including FZR250 and FZR750). Although the bulk of the TZR-related info appears to be identical to that in the dedicated TZR 1KT/2MA race kit manual, there are additional pictures and parts prices.
It may be of interest to 1KT model enthusiasts to see the range of race kit parts available and wonder how anyone managed to afford to buy them at the listed retail prices all those years ago!

I’m not sure how the
“new 1987 transmission” differed from the original/previous (1986?) F3 version – all of the details (gear tooth counts etc.) I have seen have been for the 1987 version.
I’m also not sure of the relevance of the original F3 transmission being certified by the MFJ, or why such certification wasn’t mentioned in relation to the new 1987 transmission – anyone know?
One thing is for sure; the new 1987 transmission was a lot more expensive than the original version!
The pictures show three different racing chamber sets; One set for the SP class and two different sets for the F3 class – I infer that the photos of the F3 engine kits show both the 1986 and 1987 versions.
