Good stuff! It's always the little invisible things that hoover up the time, isn't it?

Yes - the "NLA" stuff.

I hate to think what it will be like in another 10 years time  :o

Another job on the "to do" board is to repair the needle jet thread in one of the 36mm carbs.
As these carbs are like Hens teeth now, I'm looking at cleaning up whats left of the thread in the soft ally carb body. It looks to be around M8 x 0.75 pitch by my pensionable eyes and thread gauges so I've ordered a tap.
The after cleaning the threads with isopropyl alchohol use a light smear of Devcon to fill the threads in and re-cut the thread.

Fingers crossed this will do the trick.

heli coil/rethread failing that (-P)
as for the chain link joiner always remember the close end goes the way the chain travels first/direction of rotation

Thanks Vinny
It doesn’t matter what theY look like as long as they are functional I guess.
Yours is similar indeed.

I would like to see what an OEM one looks like. From the parts book They appear to have a twist in them that places the cable fixing vertical in relation to the cylinder mtg plane. Probably for the cover to fit to. I managed to find one photo Of the RHS of a 3XV7 engine on a google search but it wasn’t very clear.

Yes it works fine.
And  your correct The standard does have a little twist in it.
I actually had the standard one but I traded it with a guy who had a spare spr cylinder that I needed that  more than I needed the bracket.
The same brackets off the tz come up now and again on tz forums but  usually for a very hefty price 😢.
