If it was you that bought it, then do it. No reason at all why a 3XV couldn't clean up in F400 I reckon. I think there's the possibility of a couple being out there this year. Looks like a good one in any case. How much was it up for?

Yeah I never bought it!

5.5K not for me, well not while I'm married!!!

She'd f-kill me.

I want one, but not as pukka as that, I'll only get it dirty.

Actually whats a ballpark price for a normal 3xv?

You've probably missed the boat I'm afraid, Spencer. They mostly seem to go to the polishing and preening brigade for silly money nowadays, unfortunately. Your best bet is to look out for something that's been dropped and/or re-painted or whatever. They seem to crash very well, but anything non-standard in the paint dep't seems to go for quite a bit less than stock-looking ones :;):.

On the road, the lower spec Rs are a better bike IMHO - and make a cracking track bike too, so don't assume you need to track down an SP to get your jollies if you are serious about getting one. ClassicJap has his R on the RD forum at just over 2 grand. Too much in my most 'umble opinion, but it might be worth a look?

It's a Bemsee class, pitting essentially 'production' (a loose term) bikes upto 400cc (although there are rumours that some of the 4 strokes are bigger)

Already sold - was a really nice clean low mileage bike with a an expensive paintjob. Some people like them standard and some like "painted". I like them both ways.

Is it really worth paying double the price for an SP etc. I just wouldn't spend that sort of money on a 250

Not this year but maybe next season - 3XV F400 that was my thoughts.

I could fund it by selling me three other racers possibly.

The ZXR400's are legally allowed out to 440 or 480 or something I think. I spoke to Bob Farnham about the idea and he reckons the top spec ZXR's accelerate so quickly they astonish. Going to take the valve out at Lydden and give it my best shot against them. Maybe sooner - we'll see.

3XV could run AVgas though which would make it more reliable at higher bhp's now he rules changed.

My Sugo'd 93SP racer with TZ ignition MIGHT be up for reluctant sale at the end of the year as well as my LC250 and LC350 racers - I'll be needing to pay and make space for the Maxton TZ350 - you would need to factor in shipping from Oz mind  :D

Ready to kick ass..........

If my last race 3XV (64 RWHP) was anything to go buy, the red faces on the RGV and 400 boys as I passed them in a straightline was be well worth it.
Pity my cornerning capacity wasn't quite there......

if this one isn't putting out at least 70 RWHP I will be most upset !!
