Hello & a Happy New Year to everyone.  :D

Where can I get good quality, reasonably priced carb. float needles
& seats from in the U.K., ( other than Yam dealers & Yam prices ! ), for the R/RS model standard TM 28 SS carbs.
Can you get pattern ones ??
Any information gratefully received.

(Yam Pt. No. for float needle & seat together is 2MA-14107-28) .

Can't really help there, wullie, as I've never had to replace one. The ones for the TM28 carbs are probably a pretty common fitment though Id think? - The needles and seats being the same as in 2MA/TDR carbs I expect, so you should be able to find aftremarket ones.  I've always found that they clean up fine though. Fitting filters and/or properly cleaning the tank has always cured the occaional debris-on-the-needle = carb overflow problem round 'ere :D.

Thanks Warwick & Jools.
Before I removed my engine for its overhaul, when it was idling, (1400-1500 rpm warmed up ), it would idle fine to begin with, then after about 20 - 30 seconds, the engine would slow down, start spluttering / missing, & threaten to cut out unless I blipped the throttle, then it would idle fine again for a few seconds more, only to start the spluttering / missing again. With my hands over both silencer ends, I could feel the R/H cylinder was the one misbehaving. On removing the R/H carb float needle seat & examining the 0-ring with a x 10 magnifier, the o-ring is perished, (lots of fine cracks) which must be allowing fuel to seep past the needle valve & slowly, but surely, flood the carb !! The L/H needle seat o-ring's not looking too clever either, but it hasn't started to cause problems, yet , hence why I'm after float needles & seats. But so far, I'm not having any joy on t'internet, which includes googling Mikuni spares stockists !!
Main jets ?, no problem, by the bucket full !!   Float needles & seats ?, nope !!     :(

Appoligies 4L0, spotted your link to Allens Performance AFTER posting reply above. I'll give them a phone sometime. I'm in no rush, what with my motor still in bits !! ( Sending my crank to S.E.P. for its rebuild / new inner web Monday coming )  :D

If your talking about my crank, Warwick, I haven't contacted them yet to say it's coming !!
I was going to send it by "Parcel Farce", or is that too risky ??  ???
By the way, I've just found Mikuni carb o-rings of different dimensions listed at Allens Performance web-site.

Thanks 4L0.  :D

After managing to get one of the old float valve seat o-rings off in one piece today & measuring it, MIKUNI o-ring, Pt.No 616-23002, looks to be the right size, (6.10 mm inside dia., 9.50 mm outside dia. & 1.70 mm thick). Will try & order them at work tomorrow.

Yes, the crank. Could have been clearer, sorry.

I just post things via whatever means the lady in the PO tells me is the cheapest/most efficient way myself. You can ask for additional insurance of course if your are worried about it. Last crank I posted anywhere was a little under a tenner for basic post IIRC.

Thanks for the postage advice, Warwick.  :D   I was going to ask about additional insurance myself anyway.
With my track record of bad luck, the last thing I need is my crank going AWOL in our wonderful ?! postal system !!   ???
                           Cheerio .   :D

Here's an update on my carb float-needle seat o-rings.

Phoned Allens Performance Ltd. yesterday morning & ordered two o-rings, ( Mikuni Pt. No.- 616 - 23002 )
They arrived in the post THIS MORNING !!  :O  How's that for service !!
The grand total for the two o-rings, plus VAT & postage, came to the princely sum of £ 4.61 !!  :D
Each o-ring worked out at £ 1.18 , inclusive of VAT.

Allens are in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, U.K. Phone ( 0044 ) 01949  836733 ),  web-site:- www.allensperformance.co.uk , :O

Thanks again 4LO, your suggestion saved me a few quid.    :D   Regards, Wullie.
