I'll send you a copy, Jools. Just mail me your postal add. I owe you the postage (at least) on those pistons you sent me a while back.

Now go buy that 3MA... You'll love it. :;):

Hi Ian.
Just been reading the MCN.
A nice 2 page spread, and some good pictures.
Good stuff.

Were you racing in New Era club between 1991 and 1995 in the Proddy 250/350 class?

If so we may have raced at the same meets, tho I never went to Cadwell park, but plenty of Mallory, Snetterton and Brands.

Keep up the good work, I recommend getting your ports opened to SP spec by Martin77.

Martin.

cheers mate, yeh, the pics dont look to bad do they! btw, i'm 45 not 46(no need to make me any older than i already am!)and i only ever owned 1 four-stroke,an h-reg fzr 600,  i raced with new era(and various other clubs) from 85-91,mostly 250 proddy,at cadwell, mallory, snetterton, donington, darley moor, carnaby, finished my last season on a rather expensive to run,(but bloody good fun to ride!) honda rs 125. Martin77 has ported it to "almost" sp spec, hopefully get it on the dyno next couple of weeks.cheers,Ian  :D

Top write up that well done :p

Only one question, might be dum but how can a leaking fuel tap have anything to do with the bearings.Or do you still run the mixing thing.

Glyn

not sure about 3xv slinger, but it adds to the problem of the fuel washing the bearings.
ie, washing the oil outta them.

personally, i think it was just down to worn/old main bearings, i can't remember saying it was a fuel tap leak/carb overflow?(his own words i think) surely if that were to happen, the fuel would just exit via the overflow pipes? anyway, many thanx to you guys on here for all the help with info & advice on the bike, where would i have been without it??  :D

Yeah spotted a lovely 3XV there! Made me want one!
I'm a Doncaster lad but Market Rasen is a typical ride out for me. I've got a 3MA (a world famous Performance Bikes Sep 08 featured 3MA!!)
I was there on a Gixxer 750 unfortunately!
But a little Lincs TZR gathering would be a good idea if there were some takers?

Apologies, Jools. Not forgotten, but I've been a bit hemmed in by work and it keeps slipping off the top of the 'to do' pile. I'll get it in the post early next week - promise :)
