From what I have read some of you appear to be paying too much for your parts new & secondhand, also getting fairings etc is impossible cos the japanese companies consider it to hard to communicate with us round eyes. They think speak japanese or piss off.....With this in mind I have spoken to a young englishman who lives here, married to a japanese girl. Todd has just started up his own second hand export car company after 5 years working for others. He is interested to branch out into other fields of export cos  the car bus. cant last forever. I put it to him about buying for me/ you guys, he likes the idea, but is  understandably nervous about bikes cos he knows nothing about. I will have a meeting with him soon to discuss. When we work out a plan I will post it up here for your info. His web site , McIntosh Global Trading........................... stay tuned same time same station

Good one Peter

I'd suggest he operates on a cash/deposit up front basis to prove we are not tyre kickers.

If we give him part numbers or details then he can't really go wrong AND he will have the shipping contacts.

Could he handle a TZ rolling chassis delivery to Sydney ??

Yes Jools I agree with what you say about payment up front at the moment he is leaning towards paypal. & yes he could handle a rolling chasis, problem is you would need import approval from aus. gov.    cos considered a bike.  Parts is different but will go into this more in the future. no time now.        Also to anyone out there  a SUGO 9A for here in japan now $450 US. Price is $100 higher than normal so I am advising to ignore till he drops price a bit, if not it will set a new precedent. If anyone wants it I will buy & send to you but I need money up front, been shopping to much lately myself (so many bargains,   hehehe.....) :p

Yes but its much simpler to get a race bike in than a road bike.
$50 from dotars for a certificate, takes about 2-3 weeks if they are feeling helpful.
The problem is you can never guarantee they will give you one...................in which case you break it into bits to ship it.

I need a rear nissin brake calliper for a TZ250 1992-99 if you can locate one......for the right price........... :;):

Does this mean u r using standard SP pipes ? If you are then u should not be using stan. mufflers ( if jap spec) cos there is a restricter built into muff. for jap gov. laws. Change muffler gain 5hp+ Best is some after market, Bosson or Martin77 from forum. Peter

Kevin

have you tried running the part number through accu-products ? you never know or get some made up at a local machine shop - there is a guy who was advertising for jobs like this on the TZ250 racing forum

http://www.tz250racing.com/cgi-bin....;t=5853

Hang on a minute..............................are these what you are after ??

Those look to be Jackal or Sugo flanges Jools. The bits Kevin is looking for are heavy cast Iron spacer pieces that fit between the 91 & 92 SP barrels and the actual exhaust flange itself. they convert the D shaped outlet of the early SP exhaust port at the cylinder exit to a round shape where it meets the pipe. They are often stuck to the barrels themselves so from a cursory glance it's easy to assume they are simply part of the barrel casting itself if it's all a bit cruddy.

A while ago I sent a pair to Alex (RedandBlue) so that he could have some copies made in aluminium. He said he would send me a pair when completed, but I've not heard anything recently so don't know if he's got them done yet ???.

Alex said he'd had no luck tracking down oem ones through Yamaha, so it might be worth contacting him and asking if he can get a set of the copies made up for you too, Kevin? They'd be lighter than the pig iron oem ones too :)

Cheers

Wb

The flanges are still not ready, because no one has time to do it for me (cost saving method).
Kevin told me that he can´t wait.
He got some pictures and a professional drawing from me.

Regards

Alex

Alex my man...nobody wants to wait wen they're racing (it's only amateur club racing.....& oh to have something that will give you more speed over your friends :p    :p ). It's kind of like searching for the Holly Grail, you just keep trying!!!
I've had a few pokers in the fire but none have really heated up. So...if you can get them done, I'll take a set. I've tried the machine shop near me that has made a few simple things but he said it would be ridiculous $ just for one set. Is that the same problem with you? Or just the free time for them to make them??? I'll keep looking, but any time soon if you get some made, let me know.
Kevin
PS. Alex, I really appreciated the tech drawings, one of the pokers I have in the fire is I gave a copy of them to a racer friend who has a friend who has a shop......maybe???? ???

How come those cylinders have a D shaped exhaust outlet ?

can't say I have ever seen an SP cylinder to compare !

(I hear the whir of Wazza's camera.................. :D)

Good news Kevin I went into Red Baron today & the mechanic walked out with what you want, must have been from his stock at home. I had told him they were for a friend of mine, the japanese are very helpful & will put them selves out a lot to help. One of the endearing points about this country, something that has disappeared from our western culture. Anyway he wants 10,000 yen for them (100 US) Get some money to me & I will post them to you.   Peter :p
