I have been printing out and using as reference, the part's catalogues from the pure 2 stroke download's. I put an order in with the local bike shop to find that one part number did not exist and other's not associated to the part required.
It was only little bit's that i was ordering, like the collar's for the rear and front mudguard's, but it made me wonder which one was correct ? Would there be different number's for common part's depending on the counrty ? Am i the first to experience this ? Discuss.... :D

never had any part number problems myself using the 3XV parts books. Things like those kind of 'top hat' washers are usually just generic Yam parts though of course, and not 3XV specific. Worth double checking you copied 'em down right and/or checking with another dealer maybe?

Sometimes the common part number can get superceded. If the later version fits the old purpose then they will use that.

Its impossible to say without looking at the microfilm versions or whatever the dealers use.

But i did order some carb parts by part number once and I go 2 autolube feed pipes - this turned out to be a cock up in the part book but I never got a refund and they wouldn't take the pipes back. I stopped using that dealer - damn expensive when i don't use the oil pump !!
I think I fitted one to my Nissans air con vacuum solenoid that had perished  :D

I asked about an up to date part's book. The last one they got was for a kawsaki, and it cost him £60 ! I took the print out to the dealer, so not a error on my part. The bit's ive ordered should be here by the end of this week so i ill find out the hard way which is right and wrong.
Maybe it might be worth posting a section on here with accurate part number's for the obscure "little bits" and up to date price's that can be ammended as and when ? Could have different section's for the various model's maybe ? ???
