clutch boss(hub) arrived from (not so)accu-products this morning, only thing is, they sent me the wrong fookin one!! i ordered a 3XV-16371-00,NOT A 3R4,which i believe is for a  TZ 250,it even says 3R4 on the back, jeez, how hard can it be to check these things? so if anyone has a spare (3XV) clutch boss kicking around that they have no need of,at a reasonable price, please let me know, i'd be very grateful!! cheers, Ian.....

That's a real pisser, Ian. Sorry to hear it.  Pretty sure I can't help re: the clutch, but i'll have another root through my clutch bits boxes for a spare one tomorrow. Have you tried Webbs or Fowlers for price and availability? It'd probably be quicker than waiting for Ric to sort it and get the new one to you I'd think?

In fairness I've generally heard consistently good things about accu-products, so maybe you have just been unlucky this time? And he's geared more towards the TZ stuff really rather than the road bike bits which won't have helped...  It's horrible when you open a long waited for parcel and it turns out to be the wrong bit though, so I feel for you. I'm guessing you wouldn't mind so much if was winter, but in the (way too short) summer it's a pain in the arse, isn't it?

Cheers

Wb

i rang accu-products earlier, and spoke to ric,he was of the opinion that the (teezee) and teezee r (lol!)hub were the same, i kindly assured him that they weren't! so anyway, after a lengthy, and somewhat slightly stressed convo, he seems to think he might have a good s/h 3xv clutch hub somewhere in his warehouse, said he'll email me when he sorts it out,if u got one though warwick,or anyone else for that matter, let me know please! yeh, it all had to happen now didn't it? shit happens as they say.cheers,Ian   btw,i got charged £270 for the main bearings and seals,oh, and the locking tabs...... :(

£270 :O . Is that just for the outer crankshaft mains? They should be about  20-35 quid a piece (the bigger one being the more expensive one). And the seals are somewhere between £10 and 20 from Trollopes if I recall. Or are you talking different parts? (not sure what you mean by locking tabs).

Might be an idea to make sure Ric knows it's a wet clutch hub you are after - the dry one is entirely different... And if he thinks TZR ones are the same as TZ ones (which they aint), he must be thinking dry clutch I'd think? But surely a part number is a part  number, innit?

That's a pretty good rate of pay for twirling the handle of a bearing puller innit? I'm in the wrong game I think...

I'm surprised to her Rick stuffed you up, thats very rare. He was obviously operating from memory as his online parts lists show them as different parts.
To be honest when I saw the price - $78 I couldn't believe it was right, perhaps there has been a large Fk Up there.
Last price I had from him for an SP clutch basket was $US600. I expect there is a premium for SP/SPR stuff.
OEM Yamaha local rip off was about $A1200!!!
Perhaps the centre boss is cheaper but I wouldn't have thought so.
I have a spare clutch as I said which was going into my spare motor and I deliberated over whether I could part with it, but a) you wouldn't have liked the price ! and
b) I would be in the same boat finding a replacement.
I will have a rummage around and see if there is one tucked away I could part with but don't hold your breath..........
