I've just worked out that the above parts cost me £147.00 pound, inclusive of VAT @ 17.5 percent, back in Sept. 08.
Might be worth phoning a friendly Yam dealer & getting a quote for the above parts to see if he's "at it"  ???
Maybe he's trying to cash in on the strength of the Yen against the Pound at the moment,
with his stock of spares he bought a while back !!, ( the mercenary ).
The biddings already at £150 for the knackered R/RS crank, & the bidding doesn't finish until the 28th of Feb. !!   :O

what is this inclusive of VAT @ 17.5 percent? i added up these parts off of a 2008 price list it came up to $150 us dollars. do you have to pay some fees for products sent to you from out of state -- how much does your 190 = to in us dollars  :)

In the UK we have to pay VAT, which means value added tax, on almost everything we buy, excempt things are i think food, baby gear and, second hand stuff.

VAT was 17.5% added to the list price, it has recently been lowered a bit because we are all going bankrupt now.
We also pay tax on what we earn from work and, money we save.

Items sent into the UK from other countries can, if picked up by customs and excise, be subjected to the tax.

Exchange rate at the moment is about $1.40 = £1.00 so our £190 would be about $266, if my calculations are right.

Hope this helps.

He offered me that crank and at first he said it was a sp one. Luckily someone on here told me other wise ! I must admit that i have bought load's of him outside of ebay and he has done me some good deal's so far.
He put's thing's up for silly money and see's who take's the bait. Talk to him privately and the price's drop dramatically :D
If it was'nt for him i'd be screwed by now !!

That's a good question !! I would think it depends on how thorough our customs & excise people are when checking out parcels coming into the U.K.  ???
I think some people are lucky & get away with not paying V.A.T. if it's marked as a gift. My son tells me it also goes on what the "gift" is worth.
He's twice tried to buy sneakers from the States, marked "gift", & both times he's been clobbered with VAT, import taxes, etc.
They ended up costing more than if he'd bought them in the U.K. !!     :O    I don't think he bothers much now, too many hassles have put him off.

The large amount of spares I've ordered for my 3XV9s engine & chassis overhaul have been ordered through a U.K. Yamaha dealer,      ( Webbs of Lincoln ), who is supplied from a large Yamaha warehouse in Holland.
Any of the 3XV / TZ compatable parts I needed I ordered from a Yamaha TZ race bike specialist in the U.K. ( Dennis Trollope ).
He seems to be cheaper than the Yam. dealers & he's also given me 10 percent discounts.   :D
So far, all parts ordered are still available, & delivered within a few days at most !!   :D

Only 10%? He normally gives 15 - and then whacks the VAT on in any case, lol. Times must be hard in Bristol just now... Or maybe he's got something against the Scottish?

Ripper - if you are based in the US and need parts, try RS Cycles or Rik at Accu products (both have good websites with searchable parts lists and online ordering). And both will be cheaper for you than buying from the UK I'd think.

mmm

what model TZ is it off?

If I'd known you still had it I could have done a straight swap for the TZR clutch I had...............yeah, I know I wasn't keen on parting with it but times change you know  :;):

Besides I only have my SP now although I probably have enough parts to build a spare wet clutch motor............

Oh, by the way if anyone comes across any TZ250B 3YL 1991 engines or engine parts  I'd be interested - I have a rolling chassis project that I am restoring back to original now that the SP motor has its own frame.
