3MA Engine Bearings

Postby Nobby » Tue Jul 17, 2012 8:38 pm

I am in the long process of completely rebuilding my lump.Split everything up labelled, good, everything that comes out easy ,good.Bottom casing?Balance shaft bearings i will take them out later & will renew as with all other bearings.Degreased casings full of grit & road dirt the kind of things bearings dont like & washed down.In the meantime thought i get prices for original new bearings.
2 bearings both in the casing that are associated with the balance shaft.
WTF £74.25 +VAT & TOF is discontinued.

Thats not the only surprise.£35.20 +VAT for a bearing in the clutch pull rod assembly.

For the last 2 hours i have been in consultation with God,(who by the way gave me advice to go & play with myself down my shed) used a tooth pick,a 10 ltr spray can of duck oil & my finger to rescue my bearings.

Dont make my mistake.Look after your bearings

JFC my rant over.

Has anyone got suggestions for replacement bearings.Cheaper so i dont have to do the donkey work.

Cheers
Nobby

Get the numbers off the side of the bearings and go to any good bearing supplier - alternatively, measure the dimensions and go to a bearing supplier
