please wait until i have something to show you guys, i have no idea if he is going to come into problems with the moulds and want more money. my brief is to make it better and more stylish while adding practicality to it by making the removable pieces (hand guards and side vents) intergrated and make it easy to dump the bottom half for jetting changes. he is proving slow off the mark considering he punted for the work, patience is key here, in 2 weeks he has produced...... nothing.
just follow the thread and i will post pics as we go, ill fit it then if you want i can help you to get a set if you still want one.

I'll get him with good old fashioned pressure. He want us to race so he has a class to race in.
That's what he asked, is this your race bike. He promised to crack the back on it next week.
Build your bike edd

He'll need your top casing to and power valves.
I know my heads are not right and I am having to run serious advance but you won't regret it, the bike pulls like lightening.
The only advice I can offer is if you are thinking of getting a TZ then this will set you back as it'll cost around R15000

what i meant by last post is TZ is the way to go, it costs more to make a race bike than to buy one

right, moving on

good news  ;D ;)

got a call from bad brad, seat is ready, he calls it a prototype, i call it a bloody blessing!!!!,  this piece takes up 6 pieces of the std setup.
my concerns are and i am not sure if i should even worry, the stickers from the mould/original-set came out on the unit, perfectly. this makes it dead easy to spray oem colours and i suppose you can sand it out pretty easy. even the yamaha on the back came out perfect.

let me tell you it fitted perfectly, i did a small trim were subframe, tank and fairings meet. otherwise it snaps into place and chocking up with foam between frame and seat and fitting the 2 lower screws, it is on and perfect.
he said as it is a prototype he used offcuts of fibre and he basically wants me to use it and find weak points.

without further adue.... i give you.... in colour.....

edit, pics rotated

He is a changed man !

You can clean up the mould to get rid of those lines

That looks great Paul 8)

Can the seat be cut down to use original pillow?
Does it have the original rounding of the pillow at the end?

When does it comes in production?
And what will the cost be

Hi Louis.
There is others you can get that fit std seat. See earlier in this thread from MBSteve.
This is a race seat so maybe some foam and that's it. It is comfortable. And as is you sit a touch lower than std. Braking hard feels good.
When he has finished the fairings I'll have final pricing. He said R2500 for the lot (seat plus fairings, no mudguard) originally which is cheap compared to European stuff but the finished product still needs work.
I am also learning a lot again. I will see if I can get him to touch moulds up to take lines out.
I am not going to bug him yet though. He had lots of work still to do.
It looks like I can chop a lot of the sub frame away which is good news.

Keen to see what the fairings are going to look like.

Paul, could you find out what it would cost for him to make a mould of a 3MA 3 front mudguard, both Edd and I have those front forks unlike your 3MA with a 3XV front end, I have modified a damaged 3XV mudguard to fit but the brackets looks shit!

Edd, could yours be used to make the mould?

Rather deal with Gerard at Racebox. Honestly. Just makes sense as you are in jhb.

I am waiting for a 5KE curved arse seat from Spain which I will make a mould of. That would look tit on a 3xv. See Louis's track bike for a pic.

From France you could try TZR125 Beldarda as Louis did (I helped him to bue from Rofidal)
I don't remember if the body work too (seat I'm sure).

I think Paul set is more race oriented than the belgarda ones.

Hi
I'll have to leave you to contact them directly, I am leaving SA so cannot do it for you
The company in Gregor Composites +27 78 0312042
His name is Brad or sometimes his wife will answer.
You might have to mention "Paul from iDube race track" and " Yamaha TZR 250 he made moulds for "
You might have to arrange your own shipping and have it collected.
