Title: Emulsion Tube (& Needle) sources
Post by: davidskinner on October 12, 2012, 12:06:04 AM
I haven't been able to source new emulsion tubes and needle jets for my 91 3XV1.
Anyone know where I can get them?

Regards
David

Hi Dave,

Hope your TZR is treating you well :)
I am in the process of sorting some Mikuni TM34 carbs through Steve at www.twostrokeshop.com - they're in Cairns Australia.

Steve should be able to sort out out at least the needles. Is your bike running the stock Mikuni TM28SS carbs?
He was offering me the choice of whatever size I want for mine, but I'm likely to just get the default ones and then replace them later, as I'm unsure of what sizes I need at the moment. Flick him an email ask he's a great guy to deal with.
Email address is: offbeat@iinet.net.au

Failing that, try www.geckomotorcycles.co.uk, as I've been referred there for bigger carb rubbers (for the rubber manifolds above the induction reeds) by others on this forum and have spoken to them previously about other parts.

One of those two should be able to sort you out.
Come back and let us know where you get them, as it's useful to know for me and others.

Regards,
Murray
We'll have to catch up for a beer some time soon - started work on my bike properly - thread going in this forum in the projects section.

Thanks for this Murray - I'll let you know how I get on. My 'finished' project bike is in the project forums.

David

AFAIK the oe needles and emulsion tube/needle jets used in the 3XV carbs are Yam specific? I have a few (used) oe 28mm 3XV carbs - and lots of internals - if you are looking for good used replacements? PM me if there's anything specific you need. I'm in the UK though, so the postage might be a factor?
