What is the squish on a std. 00 engine with std, base and head gaskets?
And if someone has bothered to mesure, is deck clearence 0?

Whenever I've measured the squish on a stock R motor they've been anywhere between 1.2 to 1.6mm or so, Rui. Mass production build tolerances...
Head gasket is .2mm for reference.
Mine was 1.3

With that scenario, each engine has to be analysed on its own... but damm, such big differences must lead to very different head volumes when tuning squish.

That is what I get as well. But... that´s not gonna be used. EPDM o-rings are imo the way to go.

Yes, the SP model uses O rings. It's a useful mod for R cyls or heads too. I just noted the head gasket figure to help with your calculations.
Never noted the deck height on R pistons/cyls, but I'd expect it's close to 0.
Porting, pipes and ignition is where the real gains are to be made though. You will need to change all three from stock to make significant improvements.

To my very limited experience, this is rarely the case on yamaha 2stroke engines at least.
Have found 0,2-0,3mm to be a common value. To the best of my mesurements with very basic tools on my 00 engine 0,2mm.
Yes, that's what I meant by 'close to 0', Rui. You can use different thickness TZ base gaskets to set it as you'd like it of course.
