Venue finalised as Donington Park on Friday July 14th. I have negotiated a discount. Cost is £159 per person for 7 x 20 minute sessions.
You will need to contact me for a unique access code. This will be for 1 person only, so each individual will need to contact me. I will not issue a code for more than one person. This code must not be shared.
The only stipulation is you must bring a 2 Stroke. Book into the group that is appropriate to your riding skill. I'm going in Novice/steady.
You need to ring No Limits on 01525 877087 and quote the code. You cannot do this on line
Anyway enough of the passive aggressive, lets get lots of 2 Strokes out there together :-)
I would be tempted with Donnington. I can book holiday from work and crash at my mate's gaff in Loughborough.
Weekdays in term-time are not possible for me, sadly, due to work. Will be aiming to bet at Cadwell this year for the PS/classic bike thing though.
I'm up for Donnington, would do Anglesea if on a weekend (or close to) as its a long way.
I am not really up for Cadwell it's just a hell of a distance and narrow as. Warwick, you could just "pull a sicky". Just hope there are no students on the forum!

A teacher at my wife's school was "ill with a cold" but later that day seen on the Channel Four Racing TV programme celebrating at the Cheltenham finish line. He left the school shortly after....

Nice work! ;D
We ain't making TV with the corner fifty pencing we'll do!
Just keep Warwick off any forum vids and hope he doesn't brake any bones, turning up Monday on a cast would take some explaining!
Both circuits would get my vote....
The rain at donnington was a dissappointment but good to see so many turn out .... if that could be replicated it would be a blast.
I also enjoyed the classic day in sept at cadwell....weekend before a classic meeting as well so some dirrent bikes around
My thoughts are the Big Bang at Donington Park as a stand alone 2T event. I'm going to Cadwell as part of the classic bike trackday (July weekend) and the MSV Cadwell Park pre 1995 day (was a Friday in September last 2 years). I did get tail-ended off the track by a Triumph whilst I was riding someone else's Elsie though :o
The only comment I would make about NL and donnington would be the group organisation..... NL were not happy on the day that complete novices were in the same group as ex racers etc....
The poll on here and the other forums I frequent have come up with the majority wanting a Thursday at Donington Park. I'll discuss this with No Limits and let you know when a date is arranged
As this is across lots of forums Face Book event here

2017 June 15th at Donington Park with No Limits.
If you are going this is the place to let me know. If you don't use facebook then PM me

Well done Phil,

Yeah, I travelled a long way for that......... ::) ;D (and relive Paul of some cash ;))
I'll be over between 20 June and 9 July if there are any track days in between those dates that don't clash with Spa Bikers Classic - 30 June - 2nd July.

That will be Cadwell Park then :-)

That looks like a must for a pre Spa shakedown run.
I'll have to see if I can make it work logistically.
Any TZR's going to be at the 2T Big Bang you need to contact me for your personal discount code
Hi Phil,
I really wanted to go on this but can't make the new date. I clashes with some paragliding training in the lakes I have already paid for. I'll try and get to some other tracks though. Cheers Scotty

Hi Phil
can you PM the discount code please ?
cheers
Jools
Any more takers ?
Just realised the discount code was for the Donno gig - doh! ::)
I have entered the Sunday at Cadwell (pocket rockets), I may roll over there the Saturday arvo and kip in the van.
So you aren't coming to Donington on July 14th ?
As much as I would like to I will be on my back to Oz by then Phil.
I did look into changing my flight but they wanted $1150 for the privilege.....not really an option - I could only afford 3 weeks away this year.
There is always next year..............
Real shame but I will be at Cadwell. Just need to get Paul to see sense and drive over to Cadwell If you can come half way round the world, he can come from Wales.....
Anyway - 2T Big bang. 20 takers so far. More LC's than TZR's ..... Poor showing chaps, poor showing :-(
I'm in...... Booked and paid...... Alas no tzr, but definitely a couple of smokers
Anyone else ?
Only the hard core lol.... Come on chaps.... Book up..
I prefer Cadwell, and since they cost about the same, and my budget is limited, I may as well just do another Cadwell meet if I get the chance. If more funds become available nearer the time, I may book it.
Sorry. Just seen this thread. When is Cadwell? I can't find the dates.
Paul if it's the classic bike day look up classic bike track days. I'm doing the Saturday i think its the end of June..... I'll have the 85 TZ and 66 t200

Cadwell is the Practical Sports Bikes weekend run by Classic Bike Trackdays on June 24th/25th. It's on Phil's possible track day thread
The Big Bang is No Limits at Donington on July14th, and I have negotiated a discount for the 7 x 20 min sessions
Places still available - PM me for your discount code
Can I make something clear, I'm not making a penny out of any of this. I'm not promoting anything, selling anything or offering any sort of services. It's only about getting a bunch of 2Strokes together out on track

Phil, you and a couple more (including me sometimes), are the few on here who are actually driven to ride the bikes on a track. the others are not keen (price or fear or both). its just a fact.
some own bikes to look at them, others to fiddle, some to ride, some to race. best is whatsapp or email. make a list of those who want to be in touch and keep a mail list going, thats how Ed does it in SA.
Thanx Paul. My main track day thread is on the RGV250 forum. It might just catch someone's eye so no one gets excluded if I put it on here as well
I'll be scaling my interest down to track days rather than racing now as:
1 getting too old to risk it with the crash or win boys
2 Not as fit as I used to be
3 Fatter than I used to be
4 Less tolerant
5 Cost - its cheaper to do track days now
6 more track time, less stoppages and delays due to 1 above
7 Less stress, riding at sustainable pace so should be more enjoyable.
8 did I mention it was cheaper?
So to all those a bit worried about this, think of it as a quick ride out at your own pace with no plod or dickhead cars to worry about.
Oh and if you do manage to fall off, it doesn't really hurt - just the pride !
I'd rather see that TZ750 completed than hear you're racing.
I never wanted to race, only to have fun.
Life is like a race anyway.
Oi
Bog off my Big Bang thread

Bog off my Big Bang thread
TZ750 not 'big-bang' enough for you? lol
and you wonder why no one replies on here ? ;D
Bring the TZ750 to the big bang.... I wouldn't mind but it has to be 90 in the shade before Paul will bother booking (the day before.....)
maybe next year.........I'm planning on getting it sent back to UK after 2018 Island Classic.
Cadwell is up soon, The 85 TZ will be going round for the first time in many many years after being restored, quick run up the road and its going to take a bit of getting used to.... HOWEVER the TD3 will be at Donnington, thats just NUTS, im not sure at this point if ill even manage a LAP is so difficult to get going and HATES going slow, everything is top end, ....
Be nice to see a few more TZR boys.... I tried the TDR forum but seems like anyone with a two stroke these days is retired, bar the hard core racers..... Im at work today and the TDR is outside, Decided a while ago after thinking of selling that FOOK it, im gona ride and enjoy it, So it will be worth less in later years, but who cares !!!!! Anyone going ill see you there bring ear plugs The TD3 isnt a modern bike and Barks like an OLD Dog!!!!!!!!!
It's fully booked
They let you camp outside the paddock, as long as you get past the outside security gate before it shuts. Not sure at what time that is though.
Looks like the Suzuki T200 should make the day too!!!!! do we have specific garages again or are we first come first serve?
Shall we aim for Start of Pit lane? END?
I'll be contacting them for some specific garages. It is usually 1st come 1st served though. If we aim garages closest to Redgate, as the paddock has more space at that end. It get a bit narrow up towards the stupid goddards :-)
Ok Will do,,, ;D
If you are booked in then please message me with your bike details
Thanx
Phil M
The final update
Bikes going are a selections of VJ22 and VJ21, Aprilia RS MK2 RG500, A few RGV500 hybrids. TZ250 (not sure which version) TD3. As for numbers I'm not sure as some people didn't bother confirming they had booked, but thank you to those that did.
I will be issuing 2TBigBang stickers to anyone that wants one.
I will be staying at the circuit Thursday evening. There is a small collecting area just outside the paddock entrance that the circuit let you use (unofficial). You have to be inside the perimeter security gates before 8pm otherwise it's a pain to get in. I'm taking beer and a chair. Travelling light :-)
Circuit gates open quite early and there is a mad dash for garages. 2TBigBang have been allocated 4 garages. I suggest that we try to fill up the garages next to the resserved garages to spread out a bit. Last year we were packed in like sardines.
Signing on is from 7:30, briefing 8:30. The Lower group should be on track by 9:40 for the 1st of 7 sessions. Last session will be at around 16:40 with the circuit closing at 17:00.
If at all possible a group picture in pit lane after the last morning session would be wonderful
Please come along even if you are not riding and say hello and take some pictures. I'm the 56 year old Ed Sheeran lookalike.
Phil Mellor
Well done Phil, I know what its like to try and get a load of people on one of these days, looking forward to it, I may not do all sessions but ill be there till lunch break, But should give the old girls a run,,
Group pic with bikes? i guess we will see how many we get first??
Cheers O0 O0
Thanks for all the info Phil
Dave

With an unknown number of attendees I was confident having given out the discount code that plenty of people would turn up. So it was at 6:45am I lead the cavalry charge to secure a couple of garages. we spread across 4 garages and did our best to hog 4 garages. And it worked, even turfing a couple of 4T's out that tried to sneak into a very small space we accidentally left.
Gary VJ21 John VJ21 Tony VJ21 Harry VJ21 Chris LC Andy NSR (no not that Andy) Graham VJ23 Andy Marsbar LC Dave TZR and RS250 Geoff RGV5 and MK1 Aprilia Jamie TD3 and Suzuki 200 Alexk VJ22 and me with 2 of the RG's and the faithful MK2 Aprilia. Sorry if I forgot anyone. We had plenty of space to spread out. Then Alan Seeley from Practical Sports Bike magazine turned up and took loads of pics, drank all the tea and talked to everyone.
All sessions went pretty much OK. Here's a few "highlights" AlexK new airbag one piece suit complete with "the Tuxedo" dance option, Gary split a stinger completely off on a tyga pipe, John destroyed a sprocket carrier and was lucky to stay on, Jamie's Suzuki didn't want to run, Harry lost power then lost the front end, a few excursions into the kitty litter and Tony using kerbs grass and the biggest elbows in the world to overtake people (which he did a lot of).
Photo's to follow once I figure out how Flickr works.
Last off I had 50 stickers printed and so far we have raised £65 for the Air Ambulance. If anyone else would like some stickers (see above) posting out I can take paypal to phil.mellor@ntlworld.com and add it to the cash I have in a big envelope
