Sorry about all the questions recently but am determined to get my smoker running again. Has anyone got a stator and pick up coil for sale for a 1 kt or where is the place any body has bought one from as going through the listings cant seem to find any to match, do you have to ring the companies up to explain what it is your after, or send in the old ones so they can see what I need .
cheers Dave

Look at the diagram and check against yours to see if it fits..
As for stator it can be repaired at West County Windings.

Dave, you need a P1 pickup from electrexworld for the 2MA/1KT, but it needs wiring in back to front, i.e. Red to Green/White and Green to Red/White.

Hi Dave, have you done this? wiring as above?
Hi Phil yep was wired like malc said :)
I think I can add some insight into this only through my own findings this weekend.
I have a tzr250 1kt race bike. sat morning was warming the bike up ready for a quick blat ready for a trackday monsday, bike would not rev beyond 8thou, definite electrical issue like it was a 4 stroke on the rev limiter! fecked around all day, no joy. that evening fired it up and after a bit of revving it died suddenly... lost all spark completely
so checked the stator reading, 160 ish well in the limits so I thought this was no problem........ however if I kick the bike over and take another reading its no higher than 50, lowest was 23..... definite breakdown somewhere
so checked my pickup, 241 thats high. however checked my spares and realized theres 2 types of pickups, theres a square type that reads 139 ish and the round type that read in the 240s, I have two of each and each was consistant to my readings... so theres two types of pick ups and I would guess the 2ma ones are square and read within the manual specs, the round ones are kt and read 240ish.
so can we still mix and match 1kt 2ma stators/flywheels and pickups with such a difference in readings????

This issue was raised previously (http://pure2strokespirit.net/forums/index.php?topic=4481.0 (http://pure2strokespirit.net/forums/index.php?topic=4481.0)), but it seems the jury is still out! It may depend on whether you are using the separate CDI and PV controller or the integrated type. More information/research needed ?:-| .

James

Can you use either of the 2 types of pick-up coils, round or square?
The stators must be the same as electrex world list one type for the tzr/tdr 250.
Just a message to Tezzer250, who found the time to pop round to my house yesterday with a box of bits to try to solve my no spark issue. So we tried a stator of a Tdr he had wired up to fit a 1kt and low and behold we had spark first time since November ;D So now will order a stator from Elextrex world on Wed I think this should be the correct one G86 - Generator
