Title: Anyone interested in a full 3MA fairing set???
Post by: nomoregt4 on February 09, 2013, 05:56:23 PM
One of my mates is thinking of selling his spare 3MA fairing set, including the tank. Fairings are in red/white original speed block design. Would anyone on here be interested? In good condition for their age. Slight marks from use & sitting around in storage, but otherwise very good parts.

Yep, I'm based in the UK. Don't know how much he wants for them, but I doubt he'll be giving them away lol, but all serious offers I guess he'll consider. He's not wired up to the Internet as he's an old duffer lol he doesn't even own a mobile phone!!

He knows I go I'm the forums which is why he asked me to get the feelers out there.
The parts are:
nose cone,
V piece,
Side fairings (with access flap)
Rear seat fairings,
Tank.

Right, just called him & he's given me a run down on the condition on the parts as best he could.

Overall, they are in very good condition for what are essentially 20+ year old panels. Expect there to be the odd mark on the panels due to their age.

The right hand side fairing has a repaired/glued crack just in front of the access panel.
V-piece has a small section of plastic missing on one of the upper mounting tabs.
Fuel tank has a very small amount of rust inside.

The parts include:

Nose cone, headlight, screen & blisters,
V-piece,
left & right side fairings (including access flap & air scoops).
Fuel tank,
Rear seat panels,
Both riders seats,
Rear view mirrors,
Exhaust cover panel.

I asked him what he would like for them if he were to sell them & he said, 'They're worth what someone's prepared to pay for them'.
Which doesn't really help him out lol. He knows these panels haven't been in production for a long time. They're all original Yamaha items too.

I'd take a guess that he'd be asking around £500?? Or he'll ask me to list them on eBay on his behalf. I've only mentioned it on this forum so far as I thought you'd like to get a heads up.

I'll do my best to get photos as soon as I can. I have seen them in the 'flesh' & I'd be more than happy using these parts if I had a 3MA 8)

Hi, hopefully this isn't a hijack but if this lot is ever split I would be interested in the screen if good and the mirrors if they still have nice, shiny paint (mine are as dull as ditch water...). Cheers, Steve.
