Hi everyone, new on here and back to 2strokes after a few years on bigger bikes. Ive had VJ21s, RS250s, MC21s before but never a 250 TZR.
Looking at a 3XV but there are quite a few different models so just wondering if there was an index on what's what anywhere?
Also any helpful tips on specific models to look out for. I see full power is the only way to go which is ignition and pipes pretty much but how easy are rebuild parts to come by, is there new stock of cranks pistons etc readily available in the UK?
Last Q, what's the size like compared to the other 2strokes as im 6ft.
Cheers :)

If you're going to derestrict a 3XV you definitely will want to fit the SP crank (the R crank is NLA anyway now) and they are getting harder to find. There are plenty of threads regarding derestricting a 3XV on this forum which should give a good idea of what's needed/recommended and then possibly prompt a few more answers. ;D
Just know this nearly every mod will loose a certain amount of reliability.
Yes there are many threads on so called derestriction. BUT there are many more on rebuilds from failure's.
Your choice your 🤑😀
I defer to all who have lived experience of 3XVs, and add: my inclination would be to get the bike running as Yamaha intended/stock, ride it for a while (a season/12 months) and then decide if you feel it needs more power. But I just want to ride a bike and enjoy doing that.
Good luck whichever way you jump
