Title: Clutch housing gasket
Post by: davewills4 on April 27, 2026, 07:21:41 PM
Hi all, have recently replaced the shift shaft on my 1 kt, works perfect but have noticed gearbox oil seeping from the gasket below the oil level sight glass. Just wondering what gaskets you are using as had one from yambits.I take it no sealant is required as the manual doesn't state any is needed.
Cheers Dave

Hi

I tend to use Athena gaskets.  Got a clutch cover one on right now.  Good quality.  Either PJME or you could see if there are any on Ebay.  PJME have them for under £10.00.

Don't use sealant but do make sure the mating surfaces are really clean.  Some on other 2 stroke forums advocate giving the gasket a wipe with something like WD40 to help with removal later if needed.  Not tried this yet.

Thanks tzar250  yep went to pjme and got an athena one. Fitted it today and did feel so much better quality than the yambits one. Cleaned both mating surfaces with brake cleaner and  so far seems okay after a spirited ride out .
