Post by: yorkee on July 29, 2013, 05:49:15 PM
Finally reliable enough to running on track again!  8)

Aftermath:

- blown fork seal (Two new seals in 2 months.  probably something on the fork leg)
- faded brake pad (minimum amount of pad left now)
- worn tire (5 yrs old pilot race, not as sticky as it used to be. probably wanna swap it out)

Need those before next one!

Cool action shot !

Could be time to service the callipers if only 1 side if wearing more than the other .

Great pic !!!
Nice to see what the 3XV really can with someone capable behind the windshield.
You didn´t ask for opinion, but the seals... have you checked for correct oil level by measuring air gap?

They are 5 years old but they are dot race tire.... Pilot Race Soft.  Probably degraded to Pilot Race Hard after 5 years. :D  A bit scary to trail brake or accelerate early, but enough to get decent angle.

This is what I did with the Pilot soft race when they are new and fresh:

The brake are wearing evenly.  Just that they don't have too much meat left

Thats what I suspect is wrong.  Even there are pit on the tube there is no way it leak out in 2 days.  I will replace the seal, double check the oil level and see if I blow the third seal.

doesn't look to be too much wear on the edge? what size tyre are you using? Pressure?  ???

its Pilot Race soft compound.  150/110 and mostly 29-32psi depends on weather/type of riding.  It is not possible to hit the edge, there is not enough clearance from the exhaust.  (you see the scratch mark)

shouldn't that exhaust bracket be on the inside of the footrest hanger?
hard or not, that tyre certainly doesn't look like it's working properly
