Yan. What happened with your chain and sprockets odyssey? Did you find a supplier of steel 3XV rear sprockets in the end?

I spoke with Rentall and they said they would make a custom on but it would cost.

In the end I checked the sprockets and back was not hooked and the front had lost some of the black plastic guides. I changed the front and the chain (it had lost most of the O-rings) and kept the back one.

A bit of a cop out but I wasn't going to pay £50++ for a rear sprocket when the original was servicable.

Renthal already make 'em technically Yan? As I mentioned, TZ sprockets are a direct fit - just drill the mount holes out to 10 mm from the 8mm holes they come with (B&C express do it for you if you tell 'em it's for a 3XV, but it's only a 2 min job in any case, so I just buy 'em from wherever - any TZ sprockets, not only Renthal). I thought you specifically wanted steel though?

I just wanted one that fitted, steel or otherwise. I think it was during a "period of forum issues" so I just gave up and kept the servicable orignal one.

I will use B&C express next time.

I'm pretty sure I have 2 x steel rear sprokets, I'll check the maker.

Why a steel rear sprocket, Yan? Cost?  My ( 39 tooth ) hardened alloy AFAM rear sprocket has done 12,000 kms & still has yonks of life left in it, so longevity's not an issue.  Hardened alloy = lighter than steel = less unsprung weight.    ( My front sprocket's a 15 tooth by the way ).
I've also got a couple of Renthal alloy rear sprockets ( 37 & 38 tooth ) which cost approx. £25.00 each from B & C. 
As Warwick said, just ask B & C for 3XV rears & that's what you get.     HTH.

Steel, alloy, carbon fibre, I didn't care, I just wanted a rear sprocket but couldn't find one. I know where to get one now thanks.

If I had the choice I would go for something that reduced my unsprung weight.
