2XT cylinder head

Running a 2ma Canadian cdi and electronics with mostly the entire bottom end parts from said Canadian model 2ma. Which is very similar to the 86 uk model. Running 2xt centre cases reeds and manifolds. 2xt cylinders and power valves with a 1kt/2ma head. Running the 2ma carbs stock jetting.

Engine was entirely rebuilt using all oem parts. Cylinders replated to match oem 2ma pistons stock size. No head mods where done 1600 miles later it has had no issues runs perfectly.

Have ran it with jolly moto pipes some rare Japanese aftermarket RC koshien pipes and now running some k2-tec pipes and silencers.

The 1kt/2ma head is the same as the 2xt cept one is painted black one isn't. The only difference I could find in the 2xt pistons vs the stock bore 1kt/2ma pistons.
Was the 2xt pistons where not as big around vs the 1kt/2ma pistons. It be like running an A piston in a D size cylinder.

It's pretty minor but it's why I sent the plater a 1kt/2ma piston when I had my 2xt cylinders replated.

Hi Smoker. Sorry to crash Rick's thread, but as far as I know the rings are not Nicasil.

I have a 3xv with OE TZ Pistons and rings. Cylinders are plated.

Let's see what Rick recommends for rings in your bike.

No such thing as nikasil rings you might be getting this confused with the old chrome bores from the early 80's that did require special rings.

Used standard pistons and rings from the 1kt 2ma you'll be fine.

hi . I have the Yamaha 2xt rings ! They seem special for Nicasil  The colour is like this after 7k Kms to !

After reading you post and answers and me  researching our 4xtheads  there is one sure way to solve  , by getting the squish band  that's required or that you want !  From 0.8 to 1.7mm
I went to 1.1 by trying. 1.7 ,1.4 !
