3XV fork oil weight

What fork oil weight have you guys found to work well in a 3XV (1991 250R)?

Seems the original Yamaha fluid is really light (about 5 weight), and not well suited for a normal 185 pound (with gear) U.S. rider.

Something in the 10 to 15 weight range?
