Hi

I was very happy to take delivery of a Zeeltronic last week and even happier to see it came pre-fitted with all the connectors required to plug straight into the loom.

However, I was planning on fitting it in the original CDI location (even made up a cradle to suit) but the main leads to the triple and quad round pin waterproof connectors are just too short - by about 10cm,compared to the CDI leads. I can't see anywhere else to neatly fit the unit instead.  It could have gone just in front of the tool tray on top of the inner mudguard but again, the leads are too short.

Am I missing something here?  Maybe I can relocate the lead from the stator - I'll have to see if that's an option, unless anyone can advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
Did you ever get round to solving your issue, I experienced a similar problem and was considering some form of extension/adapter.

Hi

Shortly after posting on the forum, I contacted Borut to explain the issue and sent photos showing the difference between the original CDI leads and the Zeel leads.

Although, he seemed sure that the specifications of the Zeel unit wires were correct and said that no-one else had reported an issue, he did offer to make up an extension for free and posted it to me.

That sorted the problem and the Zeel now happily locates where the CDI was.

Recently, I have bought a neat 3D printed cradle for the Zeel from member reedx on the RDLCCRAZY forum to replace my home made one.  It looks like it just needs a couple of brass thread inserts removing (designed for RD350YPVS) to make it a direct swap with the TZR CDI mounting holes, although I haven't yet fitted it to check.  I guess I should contact him and suggest he makes TZR specific cradles without the inserts.

interesting. looks like next time i take the tail off i need to fire up solidworks & the 3d printer, thats a great idea.   (-P)
