Hi Guys

My first post on this invaluable resource

Some of you may have seen late last year my new project 3MA that was on ebay. Shiney shiney frame and swing arm and new bearing / tyres / chain no bodywork etc

The previous owner had had it since 1994 and it's been off the road pretty much the whole time. He'd clearly spend a lot of time getting it to the stage it was but had chosen to move it on.

It's now in my shed and I'm in the process of finishing off and re-assembly

Sadly organisation of parts during disassembly was not his strong point so I've spent some time trying to identify what and where all the parts and fixings go ( thankfully being the owner of an 89 FZR 1000 exup has helped this process as a lot of the fixings and some parts are the same )

Having had the rear shock supplied to me with the reservoir removed (!) I read with interest last week the R6 rear shock conversion thread I today took the plunge and purchased the shock from an 09 R6 and 130mm dog bones from a CBR 600. All fitted easily and I have to say it looks the mutts

I will be seeking out all of your brilliant photos to try to work out routing of cables pipes etc over the coming weeks

Although I have a shite load to learn about the TZR and having not fully investigated the site have noted the mod to the airbox to facilitate easy removal. Does anyone else have any other top tips to make 3MA ownership even more of a pleasure than I think it will already be.

Also anyone local to myself in Southampton as veiwing chatting to another 3MA and owner could prove very benficial ? Maybe a pint is in order .....

Nice to be a part of the 2 stroke scene again and look forward to many a contribution in the coming weeks / months

Cheers

Moose

That shock look like it was born to be there. Good stuff...
Only question now would be how it will perform.
Honda has a reputation to use quite strong springs... not exactly because they have a firm, strong suspension, but the mecanics of the complete suspension dictate so.
Interesting to hear how it will work.

Brief Update so far

Assembly is going well  8)

All calipers rebuilt and repainted. These I reluctantly brush painted but I have to say that despite my reservations the finish is great

Full replacement fairing arrived and looks good. Hope it all fits OK.

Now onto the wiring / cables/ pipes etc. All photos showing routing of said items greatly received  :-\

Then who knows maybe one day shortly I may actually be able to hear it running  >:D

Hi Moose, looking very nice. Lots of shiney polished parts as well, did you do the polishing or get it done for you?. Your abit further along than me as I still have to sort out the bodywork  :(. The paint-work looks spot on, I take it was a pro job with custom decals? Expensive?

There is alot of pics scattered around the interweb that you could look at for the cable routing, but I found pages 53-55 (section 2, 12-14) of the 3MA1 ws manual very helpfull doing mine

Loooking forward to some finished pics & a video of the old girl running if you can  ;D
