Good morning, wondering what the general consciences is on 3XV range on full tank of fuel and also the range of a full oil tank?
Thanks!

FZRichard

I am not sure about the petrol range, but I use 7.5 litres to 8.0 litres of petrol around town and 6.5 litres to 7 litres out on the highway.

I fill it with petrol when the odometer gets to 100km to 120km.

I fill up the oil tank about every 5 times I fill with petrol, and the tank only takes a few hundred millilitres.

The fuel consumption obviously is affected by the way you ride / how much the bike is modified, however...

I had a spirited ride out with a couple of NC30's last week and my relatively standard 91R ran onto reserve after 120kms along fast sweeping country B roads. On another occasion I discovered a colleagues tuned RS used around 50% more fuel than mine.

Two stroke oil consumption is minimal, just keep an eye on it periodically to ensure it doesn't run low.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the information. I surely must have misread my km's and or got my calculations wrong. I had an empty tank sneak up on me at only 65km's. Managed to avert a disaster though and limped to a gas station.
Anyway I'll get another measured ride in soon. I was thinking 65k's seemed both improbable and impractical.

Remember these aren't vacuum carbs so you can "over fuel" if you have a heavy hand. Additionally, if the needles/main jets are worn then that can increase fuel consumption.

If I get 25mpg from my 3XV I consider it a good day.

If you want to do some calculations, page 5 of the 3XV workshop manual has a graph showing fuel consumption by RPM in gr/ps/h (whatever that is) -
