Cheap if you were living in Japan though. Add freight, customs and margin for whoever imports it for you.. :-\
Yeah true, plus a rebuild!

I've been trying to get a set of power valve cables as a set of spares for my spr. The ridiculous bidding has them going for on average over $200 usd.

By the time you pay for shipping within Japan broker's fees shipping to you and in some cases import taxes.
I could probably just get some new ones made up by venhills for a similar cost.

Steveog

...or make your own, Rick. You've got the chops for such a job.

I bought a Venhill's kit and made up my current set-up. That doesn't mean I'm a Kanamoto, but it's a good alternative to paying "please rape me prices."
Brief, fleeting Glory. Which of itself cannot last, but while it does is the best game of all.

3XV RC Sugo race kit for sale on Yahoo Auctions: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/q448515846

Includes pipes, sprockets, fairing stays, handlebars, foot rest assembly with spare pegs and gear pedal, 3XV-70 CDI unit, wiring loom, temperature gauge, carb parts, front & rear stands and a small assortment of other kit and standard parts. Most parts seem to be secondhand.
The title says TZR250R (implying the base model), but the manual in the photo says SP. From the photo showing the carb parts, it looks like they are for the SP model. The seller doesn't give much of a description, only a list of the parts. I don't know enough to confirm that all parts are 'genuine'.

Starting price 100,000 Yen or buy-it-now 300,000 Yen - one bid at this stage with 3 days left.

Regards,
James

Asking price and selling price are two different things  ;D

My bike came from there according to the number plate advertising
RD 350 YPVS F2
TZR 250 3XV8 RS(P)

bulldogboy

Yeah, one of mine came from there, their bikes always seem to sell though.

This OEM piston just sold for a fairly uncomfortable price.. ???

bulldogboy

ybk

Indeed, hopefully nobody will tell him a new crankshaft would have been cheaper than that. Actually probably could have done the bulk piston purchase on here and got a crank too for pretty much what he paid  :o
Forever a student attempting to learn from the Mentors.

Gooch

I am very happy I pulled my engine apart and found a scratched cylinder when I did, since it convinced me to buy some new pistons right before NLA.

They might be the only appreciating asset I have.
Rough but running...
