If you have a working vacuum petcock, you would need vacuum for it to actually pass fuel while set to the "on" and "reserve" positions.  It would pass fuel in the "prime" position, but would have to be turned off, or away from prime position, to stop the flow of fuel when the bike is not running.  If not turned off, you run the risk of overflow.

What's wrong with your fuel valve?  I think a replacement diaphram can be sourced reasonably, or you can just switch it to a on/off style valve as on a TZ or RGV (as I'm told)?
If your not mixing gas, your not hauling ass!

Im thinking of upgrading my petcock with na option of  "off"  instead of prime,on and res, most of the petcock i see dont have vacuum line. Im just sick of getting empty tank with a flooded crankcase. This always happened when winter comes. For some reason the lower carbs tend to crap out during winter time. I just want petcock that i can just put it off and not worry anything.

Thanks :) what model of rgv250? VJ21 or 22? I was thinking of fzr600 since its more available here in US than rgv250 petcock.

Another fuel tap option! Great stuff!

Does the tap have a 10mm outlet or is it smaller?

Its a lil smaller compare to the stock one and the outlet comes out on the right side(stock is leftside)

Yes I have a vj22 petcock on mine as well and it fits perfect.
