I have a 2MA with 1KT engine in it, assume previous owner did the wiring changes, I have also been informed by a tuner (with a dno) that the 1KT bikes make same power and doubts the ignition is really that different, as on a dyno stock UK bikes typically make just under 45BHP I doubt Yamaha did anything other than quote crank figures for some markets and wheel for others? Who knows.

I am about to go for an Ignitech programeable igntion and PV controller, will be intersting to see what gains that does give, nit that power is my aim, I have 160BHP bike in garage and pissing about and spending a fortune to get the TZR a lot more seems pointless, but I want it optimized and this also removes the reliance on a 40 yer old stator winding, coil, CDI and PV Controller.

Tempted by MJ pipes, but cash a little tight until I flog my Enduro bike so they may have to wait for next winter.

I posted this earlier, i went with a zeeltronic, and did a hybrid curve with under 5 k ish the same as a tdr and over that rpm the ignition curve being the same as a 2kt, and its been really, really good. On a stock bike it made the low-end very useable and the top end is really good. Powervalve opens 500 under stock rpm, no complaints for the past 2 years on it, and can hit and hold 100 MPH w my 200 lbs american ass on it. (lol) Back on stock pipes as well. If i really want big HP i have other bikes for that as well, ;)

My 2MA with 1KT engine (and exhausts have 1KT stamped on them) was showing 47BHP at the wheels, 2T Engineering got a camera down the plug hole and it looks as if the exhaust port may have had a little bit of work on it, maybe cleaned up a little or raised ever so slightly, no sign of mods to inlet area or transfers, Andy at 2T said it was at the top of the range for a stock bike, so probably not too different, and jeting is standard still.

In april Martin Johnson road pipes are going on, along with Ignitech ignition and PV controller unit, and some dyno setup, be interesting to see what difference it makes, will ask Andy to do comparison just with ignition before fitting new pipes and jetting.

Should be fun!
