Been looking for a replacement blister for the left hand side.  Ive got the bit that broke off I and was going to repair.  Bike slipped off its sidestand in garage and smashed the very brittle blister and took out the pattern mirror against a table.  Luckily no other damage.

Any ideas where to find pattern left blister.

Ive ordered replacement pattern mirror and im going to use nos right mirror.  Ive got adapter plates and dampeners but fixings are nla, anbody got an idea where i can source?

Think someones trying to tell me something? As I was going to MOT,and im thinking of selling it!

Thanks John

I found the Shop97 blisters (https://www.shop97-finland.com/yamaha) to be good value for money. They need to be stretched a little to fit, but seem quite robust. You have to drill the holes yourself, but the outlines are moulded in and I found their positions accurate.

James

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.  Managed to order some from classic race replicas as they have just updated their stock.

Now just need to find faraway blue spray and the fixings for them.

Hopefully Ian has updated his molds as they were extremely bad in the last batch.

FFS, let hope not.  Really cant be doing with the hassle.  Ive looked on Jauce, Ebay Germany, Spain, Belgium.  Only pair I can find are NOS for £400 quid, Im not paying that.

Yambits did stock them now they don't!

So rock and hard place.

I think yam bits dropped the listing due to the shape.  Ian is good to deal with if they don't fit though.  I have a spare oem right but not left!  Tempted to grab a set off ebay Japan and make some molds though.

Well they have arrived.  Really rough and one already has a crack on the top edge.  Will be returning.

Where now?

evan_calgary

Sound exactly like the set I got.  Were the edges closest to the headlight also square?  They need new molds.

They looked like they had been cut out using a breadknife.  Already had cracks on the tips.  Spoke to Ian via email. Very nice bloke, he agreed to refund me and did so after a few hours.

Said he's working from Spain and uk supplies and not doing quality checks.

Somewhere something happened to the molds.  Ian used to have really good ones and has sold hundreds of sets according to him.   I thought he was taking them off the site to be honest.  He sent me a set and same things but pre-warned they had issues.  I think one even had a similar cack.

The quest to find a left blister goes on.  Apparently they are rarer than rocking horse shit! M and p do a set.   Skidmarx do them in different colours.

Has anybody used any of the above?

On the plus side bike now has mph clocks, just not sure if they work yet!

That would be them!  Left side has some damage.  I'm in the middle of an import order.  Let me know if you want something off Yahoo Japan.  It gets expensive with fees/japan shipping/final shipping though!

Yeah yahoo makes your credit card bleed nowadays. Especially of late with all the 3rd party bidding guys. These blisters would be a good 3D printing project I'd say. You only need to model one side then inverse for the other. It's a fairly complex shape so the modeling part is probably the trickiest bit. Then you can even make a mold of it once completed..
