I had to go back and look at the video and see if I was missing out on something that needed attention.
I went back to the 18 second mark, and looks like oil in there. Can't remember what I put into the trans for oil at the moment....I usually use Castol, but I did use some Red Line shock proof in my 3XV2 and my VJ21 SP. Stuff is thin as water but is supposed to be like 50 weight, just for gears...so I don't have to worry about how it works with the clutch...with considerably less drag.
I have been using Amsoil Dominator in my bikes for quite a few years now...all have pumps except one.

Hope to have the RZV off the table maybe today, and I can get the 3XV2 up, and give it an assessment. It needs a complete rebuild, but thinking of just pulling carbs, going through them again, and getting rid of the water heating system all together. Have some Sugo kit hoses, and a TZ water temp gauge I'm thinking of trying out. Might put my SPR airbox rubbers on along with my 3XV-80 ignition box, just to get an idea of where I need to start with jetting also.

Rick Lance was my guy and the Valvoline is what he used so stuck with it. I was told by the guy that I bought my original bike to always run the same gear oil because the seals do not like the changes. Such as the crank seal on clutch side. Main reason I always stick with one brand and weight. Not sure if true but have not. Will not say it.

I would like to find a 3XV engine, just saying. I am kinda serious on the engine. If you are thinking about the TZ temperature gauge be careful with the interconnecting tubing. The gauge on my 250 went out due to I believe a crack in the copper tubing. It is an old bourbon style and there is some type of gas used to operate the gauge. I tried to locate one with no luck. Laugh all you want but I bought a 10$ LED meat thermometer from Hobby Lobby and adapted it to the TZ. It uses a AAA battery and I secure it with a piece of velcro on the triple. I checked the readings by comparing it to my multimeter reading with the thermocouple in the water flow at radiator connection.

Do you have an auxiliary shut off on the RZV? I have a set of mad beaver mounts for air filter if interested. Stock ears work the best but they are here.

I have a 3MA fuel tank pickup with the on off valve in place of the RZV unit.
I use the ears on my airbox with Uni's, that way I still have the brackets to mount my fuel tap/choke/radiator cap/and fairing mounts...

Almost done, just finished paint tank and bodywork. A few more details to resolve and it will be ready for testing and tuning.

Got the carb basically dialed in, have about 150 miles on it now. It's a fun little bike, but not much good for trips longer than maybe 30-40 miles...at least in the flat/straight area I live.

Also had this sent to me from a guy on another forum
It's in the newest Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine
