Who is Shelley Sayers that sent me a deposit?

I've spoken with Ralph @ Wossner today and provided my CC info for deposit billing.  I've also emailed the order total to them for both piston kits and rings.

As soon as I get the shop drawing I will post it here, it should only be a few days according to Ralph.  I've attached the previous version for review as I expect the new one will be the same.  After we approve the shop drawing they will have Germany start making pistons.  Barring any major hiccups Wossner says they should be delivering them in approx 12 weeks.

Thanks for your patience and help with all this, it's been a bit of an undertaking.  I'm hoping you UK guys can come to the consensus of having me ship all UK bound kits to one address where they can be distributed more economically than me shipping them all separate.

Will keep posting updates here as I get them

Thanks Jim  (-P) :)

Plan is to ship all to one address and pick-up or local post from there. Should be far cheaper. AndyYam says he does much of this for other bike parts.

Today I received the shop drawing for the new piston run.

Please review and advise if there are any concerns ASAP as this needs to be blessed prior to them running the pistons.

Might be a good time to have them add the   oiling holes for the wrist pin.

Forgot about that, Steveog had to adf his own didnt he ?

Steveog

Yes. It was recommended by a Wossner Tech out of California. If you have a good drill press its pretty straight forward. The trick is chamfering the end of the hole resting on the wrist pin. I used 800 grit sandpaper.

Good Luck to all.

Shouldnt this be brought up with wossner before we set the ball rolling and shell out the cash.
Ive got a set of new wossners for a KR1S rebuild, havnt even looked at them, i will now, but i presume they also will be lacking that wrist pin oil hole?

Steveog

Wossner has a different strategy for lubing the wrist pin. They groove the walls of the piston at the wrist pin.

I found this to be insufficient after blowing a wrist pin bearing. This does not mean that Wossner has a poor design, but Yamaha pistons DO have lubrication holes in the wrist pin block.

I've used Wossners without the lube holes and all was good. My wrist pin bearing failure was probably due to sub-spec bearings.

I have since used only TZ spec wrist pin bearings. But, now am also running TZ pistons.

There is no logical conclusion to all of this. If the guys ordering new Wossners really want those lube holes, my fear is a long delay in the delivery cycle.

If I were buying new Wossners, I'd get the pistons ASAP and drill out the lube holes myself.

Best of luck to all.

Your right Steve, get them, then if you want to drill them ,drill them.
Lets not give Jim any headaches in what im sure is a massive ball ache to sort all these orders out!  (-P)

Let me ask about oiling holes before we toss in thw towel.  I will report back when I know if this will adversly effect anything.

Thanks guys for the input

Please can you ask for any dimensions/specs to mod this for those with earlier batches of these fine pistons.
