Think my frame is bent at the headstock , I've measured dimensions of another bike and my bike is way out ( I've alot less gap between the front tyre and exhausts) the forks are straight ?could it possibly be the fork yokes ? although I can't se anything abvious

problemchild

did you measure the angle at the fork? there are some nice apps for your smartphone...maybe a better way than distance wheel to exhaust
but keep in mind that a lifted rear has some influence

I've measured the wheel base and also centre of front wheel spindle to centre of swing arm pivot , but can't find any factory data for steering angle ? Or any apps, plus I haven't a clue how to measure steering angle ?

SouthCoastRich

I guess you did this

Easy way to work out if the frame is bent is this:

1. Slacken the rear wheel spindle and push the rear wheel as close to the engine as possible.
2. Get someone to stand the bike upright
3. Use string and weight / plum line to mark on the floor the centre of the front and rear wheel spindle
4. Measure between the marks on the floor
5. Compare that wheelbase with the wheelbase from the manual (in resources)

If the measurement is >15 mm or so out it's likely you have a bent frame and worth having it checked before you go further

You'll not know if it's forks or headstock. Measuring the angle of the forks won't tell you either.

Best get this checked out by a frame shop. In the UK Maidstone Motoliner is ace, use that as a reference
