Hi
Ive gotta TZR 250 R 1991
Its a non runner, it has jap fairing, ive bought a set of expansion pipes & gold anodised fork legs.
Plus a spare set of wheels
Its a complete bike so it'll be a project for some one.
Could you give me an idea as 1 should I sell as a project & price or break it
I just havent got the time to sort it & need the space
Its not got a Nova
Thanks

yanw

If you don't have the time to fix it then I doubt you have the time to part it out, so sell it as a project or for someone else to break it. eBay auction starting at 3K maybe? People might bid on it just for the pipes and wheels. Depending on interest and the wind it might go for 5k+ but the lack of Nova is a price reducer for those in the know, so mention it in the advert and hope people are stupid.

If you do put an advert on here then remember the rules and make sure it has a price. Technically, asking how much it's worth is rule breach but as this post isn't in the for sale section you might be ok  :-X

Best bet is eBay with a set reserve, the market will dictate what its worth

MArkets not great at the moment either, but having said that there is nothing to say it will pick up much in future, but you could hold out in that hope, or just see what you can get now.

I bought a running / MOT'd 2MA and it is amazing how much I have managed to spend on a complete and running bike just to get a few things "right", bear that in mind when offers look a bit shite, the kidn of people likely to be interested are the alos the kind of people that have some experience.

If you think it does not need a lot to get it running and registered that may be another option, do the minimum to get to that point.

For reference one sold recently in a "running" condition for around 4k I think. @leigh_boy

You would 100% get a lot more by breaking it but it would be a shame and will take a long time to sell everything and you'll probably be wishing you didn't well before you got the same money you'd sell it for as a complete. The returns, packing, posting, fee's and time to list, re list, accidentally send the wrong part.

Don't ask me how I know.  :'(  ::)  ;)

I'd also advise against trying to get it running if the engine is unknown condition inside. It'll either cost you thousands to do it right or very little to do it wrong and cause thousands of damage.

Sell it to some one who will come on here and be guided through the process of becoming skint but happy.

Also, did you mean Jap fairing (OEM), or did you mean to say Chinese fairing?

yep paid 3.5k for mine , running with  mot and registered  but looked like a dog engine is currently out  and having a refresh .

if you do break it im after some parts like indicators,  screen  i expect some other bits too
