Can someone help me out with contact info for the best complete 3xv engine rebuild service in the U.S.?
Thanks!

Hummm, not a single response...Does that mean there is no one in the US that provides complete rebuild services for 3xv engines!!!???

You could of got an answer in 30 seconds from google;

Top 2-stroke engine rebuild specialists in the USA for road bikes include HVC Cycle (specializing in vintage two-strokes), Millennium Technologies (offering full-service M-Spec rebuilds), and Two Wheel Workshop (expert in 2-stroke road bike engines). They provide services ranging from top-end refreshes to complete engine overhauls.

Ha! Well interestingly enough I did do a search. 2 of the places you mentioned did show up but, in neither case did I get any indication that they had ever done any work on a TZR engine much less a 3XV engine. I was hoping to find someone that had actually put their hands on a 3XV engine.
But, thanks none the less  8)  (-P)

As far as Millennium Technologies, they do machine work and Nikasil plating, but I don't believe they offer complete engine rebuilding as a service.

We have some of our race bike engine components machined by them, and they are very good.

@TexTZR I think the reason is very few commercial shops would take on a 3xv engine rebuild. It's an old engine, not many spares available and needs a bit of know how to get it done right.

Most guys just tackle it themselves and reach out if they get stuck.

It's not that hard, if you have some time and some mechanical ability it's definitely doable.

Make an engine stand and sort a few specific tools then it's all good. If you're only doing the top end then you don't even need a stand.

You can do a project topic and the gentleman here can help with every step. I think collectively between the regulars quite a few motors have been sorted!  ;D

@TexTZR Forgot to add that there are now two english translated manuals available as well.

I have a customer that is an engine builder with a ton of experience with race Porsche, Ferrari, and Pro Stock motorcycle engines.

I'll ask him.

To be honest I would find a good MX 2-T shop and give them a copy of the manual.

Thanks

Just spoke with him.

He has other commitments and is not taking on new projects.

Sorry.

I was lucky that I have a 2-stroke specialist near me in the UK, although the builds are not difficult for any competent mechanic, having someone that knows a model inside out is always better.

I have now been back and forth a number of times and he always has a nice selection of bikes and engines in, the reverse cylinder seem more common here, but he gets the odd V-Twin model, and loads of the 2MA / 1KT as there is a race series for this era of 2-stroke in the UK so he does dozens of rebuilds / tunes for those every year.

When I went to pickup my engine a few weeks back there was a V-Twin TZR race bike from the 1990's I was drooling over, not that I could ride one properly, but would love to have a go on a pukka race bike.

Good "mechanics" (not parts fitters) are getting very rare in the UK now, we have plenty of IT workers (guilty as charged) and deliveroo / van drivers, Turkish barbers, Vape shop owners and the "professional" unemployed, but people that can skillfully repair and rebuild an engine, very few - and they are all nearing retirement!

You can always come here for a Holiday and bring your engine with you, might make for an interesting conversation at customs though.

I would look up someone who builds TZ250 race bikes. There are a few...very few people who do work on vintage race bikes who I'm sure can help out. But I'm also sure the waiting line is probably long.
Dig into some TZ250 specific sites, and you can probably find your guy.
